No backlight!

Very difficult to read display. Pay more for a model that lights up.

Good Product

Works entirely as advertised. Model 221 is easy to program. Easy enough to install though there exist no instructions for two-wire thermostat wiring. Maybe Honeywell will correct that in future versions of the installation manual.

About the only thing we can get after Amazon and the like wiped out 90% of our shopping are one or two brands - one in this case. Think maybe Congress could get busy updating the definition of "monopoly"???

The features are easy to set up and I don’t have to worry about temperature control when I leave for the day or when I come home. I set it up to the times of my daily routine

Would not recommend

Worst thermostat ever. We switch from the old school turn dial to this model and it’s incredibly inefficient. It takes about an hour to change temperatures. So if you want to turn your heat down it takes an hour for the heat system to turn off and then the temperature stars going down and vice versa for increasing the heat. We are planning on going back to our old dial turn knob thermostat . I would not recommend this for anyone who actually wants to control their temperature in their house.

It works fine. I used it to replace an even older Honeywell thermostat. It took just a few minutes to install. The instruction assume the thermostat is replacing a later model, so they don't provide all the information necessary, but I was able to figure it out.

Good basic thermostat for the price. My one issue is this model doesn't come with a back light. Had I know that I would have spent the extra five dollars to get the unit that does. The same thermostat but with a back light feature is: Item #4514188| Mfr #RTH2300B1038/E1.

I can’t program it is confusing it shuts off at random times like 2 am when it’s 20 degrees outside I wake up freezing and it 46 I set it at 80 when I go to bed

Second unit.

This is my second one. The first one would go dead for a few days then start working again and the repeat. The second one has worked so far other than the backlight does not work.
