It fits my thermostat, and I installed it as read in the instructions. Simple easy. It all depends on your preference if you decide to have a key or combination to your lockbox. I have a key because of my kids messing with the room temperature. LOL. Works best for me.

Pet Rabbit Safety

I have a pet rabbit who loves to chew on cords. She has gone through a few. I bought this to cut a hole in the side and put over the outlet. This will remove the cord from where she can access it

We have to lock up the thermostats for safety reasons and these covers worked great for the purpose. The size and measurements are accurate, and the key n lock system seems to work smoothly. The plastic is nice and clear and suppose to resist sun exposure and yellowing so we shall see on that part over time. Overall, would get again if needed more.

This thermostat cover has other uses. I use it to cover the wall switch going to a ceiling heater. This provides protection from someone accidentally turning on the heater in the bathroom ceiling. Perfect product that keeps us safe when being outside or leaving the house.

I recently purchased a Statguard Plus cover. I thought the combination lock would be a great way not to lose a key but, due to what I’m certain was my own error, I locked myself out of the bud within minutes. A solution to save money on your power bill!

This was the perfect solution to keep my wife who suffers from vascular dementia and Alzheimers from turning my programmable thermostats up to 85°. It was doubling our power bill but not anymore. They'll pay for themselves in under a month. It was a breeze to install and fit perfectly.

Wrong measurements

The actual measurements that are stated in the listing are for a large lockbox cover, but what i received was a medium lockbox cover. Thankfully Home Depot accepted the return without me having to pay for the return shipping cost. The actual lockboxes are very well made, but it was a major inconvenience to have to return it and find another one that was the right size when I was on a time crunch.

Good product - but do not be fooled by the dimensions provided in Home Depot's "Specifications" section of this listing. 9.5"x11" is the size of the cardboard packaging the item comes in, not the size of the item itself. This Honeywell Model # CG511A is their "Medium" sized unit for thermostats 5"x6" or smaller. The Model # CG512A is for thermostats 5.75"x8.25" or smaller.

The product itself suits the purpose intended (keeping the children from raising the heat to tropical levels) but the description on the webpage does not include its physical size so this needs to be addressed by the HD product manager for this webpage. Luckily it was larger than my Honeywell thermostat but I do believe Honeywell makes a slightly smaller model as well which is what I would have preferred. The beauty of this unit is the casing goes directly over the existing thermostat without having to remove the thermostat in any way.

I needed to install a thermostat cover in my home because we recently had my father-in-law move in with us. He is up in age and set in his ways. He is cold no matter what the temperature is set at or the actual temperature in the house. After several times finding the settings turned up and the last time at 78 degrees, I decided to install a thermostat cover. My prior work as Maintence in group homes and apartments required that I had installed many thermostat covers in the past The cover purchased from Lowes was not only less expensive than most but was without a doubt the easiest installation for a thermostat cover that I have installed. Since the install, I have not once had an issue with the thermostat being changed or the cover being tampered with. Very happy with this item

Our son is obsessed with the AC power adapter for our security system, which would be difficult to move. install took about 5 minutes, half of which was walking back and fourth for tools. The cover is very sturdy, and I don't think the kiddo will be messing with the power adapter any time soon. I also have a small night light within the cover. when I do remove it, I will only have to patch 4 holes from where the drywall anchors are installed.

I use it in the garage as my ceiling mounted gas heater has a very powerful blower and I need to avoid the thermostat from responding too quickly to the rise in temperature. So really didn't buy it for security.

Does not fit "All" Honeywell thermostats

I bought three of this item. The package claims "Fits over all Honeywell and most other thermostats." However, it does not fit over the Honeywell programmable thermostat that is 6 and 3/8 inches wide.
