do Not like the digital.
I wanted a simple thermostat to use... I have a digital one and do not like it... It would not work AC and by the time you try to trouble shut it I was totally confused. My AC outside motor got HOT and would not work?

I'm hoping this will be the last thermostat I'll have to buy. I've used numerous digital/programmable thermostats. Most have lasted 1-2 years and have developed problems or died plus they require batteries. They all require a different programming sequence and each time they need to be reset is an adventure I don't need. This type of Honeywell is what I remember as being the dominant one as I grew up, maybe there was a reason for that? It's straightforward, set it and forget it! In some circumstances a more sophisticated thermostat may be suitable but generally speaking that's not the rule. If this unit is as reliable as its predacessors, it's all you'll need. This unit should get the simple job of keeping your home warm or cool done as well as, or better than the fancier models more cheaply and reliably than the rest.

So simple to use. If you don't want to program a thermostat, just adjust the temperature up and down, and that is all you really need... this is a classic product.

an old standard - does the job. generally reliable & less problematic than programmable thernostats, though numbers are smaller, harder to read for those with older eyes /farsighted
