Not what you'd think
Hard to fill without spilling. Rarely do you get complete spheres. Mostly split in half when removing. Also seems to leave a film on top of beverage when poured over this ice. I know it's not my water, never had this issue with any other ice.
Box directions failed, had to improvise to make work
Unless you fill the top with water or have another way to weight it down the top piece just floats making it nonfunctional. The directions say to clip the top into place on the bottom however there is no notches or anything that might behave like a clip. After a good does of frustration and yelling I decided to see if filling the top piece with water would provide enough weight to keep the top piece in place when filled with water. And luckily that did the trick otherwise these would have been returned. So please keep that in mind when purchasing.
Right Size for Smaller Cocktail
This mold makes great small spherical ice, but it is a little difficult to fill. And overfilling to make sure it's full leads to a bit of an icy mess. But they look good in a smaller drink glass.
Do not waste your money
Top tray floats when water is added to more than one sphere. Spheres can’t freeze solid and break apart when mold is separated. Threw away the packaging or I would return.
Quality silicone but does not work well
As others have stated, the two pieces to do "snap" together as the instructions say. When you start filling one, the other three also fill because the top and bottom come apart. If you can keep them sort of together then you get ice balls, but they are not clean spheres. I guess I'll have to spend more money to get something that actually works as advertised.
M
These worked perfect for creating circular cubes for use in cocktails
Gift
I always had these and someone wanted them as a gift. They love them
Leaves a residue
The spheres are a good size but the mold itself leave a weird residue? Not sure if it’s just me but even after a few washes it looks like flakes almost.
Woulnt buy again.
This one is not good. It doesn’t fully stay together. It floats and the ice doesn’t stay a sphere.
Not worth it
Very messy to use, often accidentally made misshaped spheres; not foolproof
Look for something else
As others have said this product would have benefited from having clips on the ends because when you start filling the holes the top and bottom drift apart from each other. This even happens with a funnel. But if you figure that out you will have spheres of ice which is nice. My issue with it is the product has an odd smell that hasn’t gone away since I purchased it. I wouldn’t buy it again but it works in a pinch
Funnel needed
Should come with a little funnel to make filling easier
Cubes too small.
I wish I had paid more attention to the size. I wanted a round ice cube mold with a cube large enough to fill a bourbon glass, but these are about half the size I was looking for. They’ll still work so I’ll keep them but not quite what I was looking for.
Do not bother
I used to have a really nice sphere ice tray. I bought two of these in the hope of getting another one. Unfortunately, these are not well designed. You see, the two sides just sit on each other. They don't clip together at all. So, while filling the sphere with water, the two pieces push apart. All of the water goes between the spheres, and you don't end up with anything resembling a sphere. Poor design; find a different brand.
Ice mold
Cheaply made Didn’t work well
Perfect
It’s works great especially when adding fruit. The size is perfect!
It works!
If you review the photos attached, don’t judge the product, judge the user. I got these to make hot chocolate bombs (it works for that!!) and threw away the directions. When my whiskey drinking bf found them, we tried to make ice but had thrown out the directions. These were our first try and they still turned out great. We’re making batch 2 more carefully and I’m confident they will turn out great.
[Rewarded Review] Nice mold
We have a larger sphere mold, but these are smaller and possibly more useful. Wish it came with a small funnel, though, for easier filling.
Leaks and doesn’t fill up all the way
It doesn’t seal perfectly so the water keeps spilling out side ways and doesn’t fill up the whole sphere. Found another ice sphere tray for four dollars less at tjmax a day later that works better
Hot Chocolate Bombs
If you’re wondering if these can be used to make hot chocolate bombs, yes they can! Just plug the holes in the mould with a bit of marshmallow before putting the chocolate in the mould. Also, make the chocolate thicker and the hardened chocolate will be easier to get out.
