Very comfortable

Overall the chair is great. The back comes up nice and high and is supportive. I'm 6 ft 3 in and it comes up to just below my neck. The height of the chair is also nice. Only things I would add is a fold-out table and a sturdier drink holder. Otherwise this chair is a great value for the money.

Great chair and awesome customer service in Pleasanton!!

This chair is so comfortable! It definitely levels up your outdoor folding chair game! Also the customer service at the Pleasanton CA store is 10 star!!!! I arrived early for my online order pickup and instead of turning me away they quickly grabbed my order info and found the two chairs. I couldn't be more thankful to them! Always so friendly and helpful in this store!!

To short to rock it, 5'5"

So, the chair is comfy and im a Sports mom and have been holding out for months. finally decided to give the rockers a try but went with this one due to the tall back vs the short back chairs. Well, unfortunately, I have to be pushing off my tip toes to get even a slight rock. I will be trying to return it and exchange for one of the short back chairs. its comfortable but I cant use the rocking function. I am 5'5".

All Hype and Fake Reviews

We've used GCI rocking chairs in the past, and the newest models are so much cheaper feeling and nowhere near as comfortable as past models. I bought this version for my wife and she immediately hated it after trying it out for 30 seconds. Confused, I tried it out as well and could not find 1 good thing to say about it. The rocking function of it was uneven, no matter what surface we were on. There was a lot of pressure felt all around with the thin fabric, which was even more uncomfortable. Anyone who spends $80 on this thing and is 5 Star happy with their purchase must be out of their minds.

Quality issues

I bought this chair about three years ago. The positives: it is comfortable to sit in.

[Rewarded Review] Great Chair, Very Comfortable

I bought this chair to replace my first rocking chair made by GCI Outdoor. My old one was about 8 years old and needed to be replaced. I decided to go with the Road Trip Rocker, instead of their standard model and I'm glad I did. The chair is comfortable, easy to carry and store and has an oversized cup holder for my larger yeti cups. Don't hesitate, make the jump to this model, it's a great chair.

The chair is very comfortable

The chair is very comfortable has very good appearance when in use. I wish there were initial setup instructions with the chair. Is there a video showing the setup? When the chair is set up should the front legs also be fully down to floor level?

Best chair

I have one and love it! The chair everyone fights for around the campfire or just gathering outside. Bought one for my parents each last year for Christmas and they still love them and think they’re the most comfortable camp-like chair. They are both in their 80’s. Easy for both of them to sit and get up from. Very sturdy.

Number 1

We have been using these for three years on our camping adventures. They are very comfortable and the first ones occupied when placed out around the fire pit. A little lube every now and then and they function flawlessly. They are larger and heavier than lesser chairs but worth it when carrying at outdoor events. We ordered some from Sheels to give as gifts this year. Their customer service is exceptional.

Great chair. Fabulous service.

The chairs are sturdy and strong. It is relaxing to rock and they slide smoothly. We are happy with them. Our first set had a problem and the fabric ripped. We reached out to GCI Outdoor and they honored their warranty. They sent new chairs quickly. In a time when customer service with most companies is lacking-they showed up! Thrilled with the service. Would definitely buy from them again!

The most comfortable sideline/camping chairs we've ever used.

I bought two of these chairs for me (6'-1") and my wife (5'-2"). I had initially ordered a FirePit Rocker for my wife as it sits lower to the ground, but she much preferred the RoadTrip Rocker after trying them out in our house.

[Rewarded Review] Love the back support and the stable rocking motion

I have camp chairs which rock like traditional rockers, and they are too big AND not really good on ground you are likely to find while camping. I bought 2 of these GCI Outdoor RoadTrip Rockers, and true to the name I will bring at least one with me on a road trip with some camping involved. When I went to pick up in store after purchasing online, I saw the display for these chairs, so I was able to give a test sit. I like the level of back support, the rocking, and how it folds up compactly into the medium length carry bag.

Light and so comfortable

So insanely comfy. I’m a sports mom who is pregnant, I needed something easy to carry and set up, and relieving once I sat down. I was a little worried about the listed weight, however it is so easy to carry out across the soccer fields and everywhere else. It’s so comfortable, I’ve banned my family from ever using it because it’s mine now everywhere we go haha. Though because of the rocking mechanism, I don’t bring it to the beach, as I’m worried about sand getting in there and forever ruining it.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect for any occasion

We bought these chairs to take to our granddaughter’s national softball tournament in Florida. We love that they fold up and be put in the carry bag for transporting them from one ball field to the next one. These have a high back, which is perfect for us. Absolutely love these chairs for any occasion. So comfortable and the fact that they rock is probably our most favorite feature. Highly recommend!

6ft or taller

The chair itself is nice but I don't recommend it for someone who is 6ft or taller. There is absolutely no head support if you just want to rest/lay your head back. I'm 6ft myself. This chair isn't for sitting for long periods at a time if you are tall. I recommend you try to find something better especially for the price. I will keep the chair and just let my short friends/family use it. Still a good chair

GCI high back chairs truly ROCK!

Quality chairs! My husband, sons, grandsons are taller guys (6’2” to 6’5”) and these chairs are great for them. The height of the chair back allows them to sit and relax comfortably. Additional plus - ease of folding the chairs and the convenience of the chair bag. It is easy for my big guys to stand up from these chairs as well. They are sturdy and secure. Love the drink holder as well! We can throw them over our shoulders and go! Great for tailgating and sporting events. We tried two other brands of rocking/folding chairs, but now only use our GCI chairs.

Very disappointed

The chairs are really comfortable and we were very excited to purchase them. We bought them in February of 2021. We put them on our covered patio in the summer, moving them in our garage in the event of a rain or rain storm although it doesn’t rain on our patio. We moved them into the garage along with all our chairs in the winter months. We noticed a couple of weeks ago the trim on the back of the chair had come loose and fallen down on one chair and the other chair had raveled on the seat and on the edges. We were surprised that they didn’t last but a little over a year and not even used but a few months. I did go back to the store and they had me contact the company. The company offered to replace them but we were to destroy the chairs and send them a picture of them and they would ship new ones to us but in the instructions she also told us that even though they were for outdoor use they were to be taken inside after each use. They were out the same amount of time as other chairs we had and they are still in perfect shape and much older. I felt they didn’t find us to be honest and trustworthy so therefore we took full responsibility for the damaged chairs and declined the offer. I would not have had a problem returning the chairs to them for replacement but to cut them up the back and through the seat!!! Kind of drastic so that just proves to me they thought we were trying to get something for nothing. We are very honest people and would never try to cheat anyone. We take very good care of our things too. So I give them a one star and won’t be buying their products. We are a little fish in a big pond so it won’t hurt them to not have our business.

So comfortable

I received this chair as a birthday gift and love it. First the shipping was quick and I actually received it right before leaving to assist with an Eagle project so it was a perfect time to try it out. I love that this has a high back I can rest my head on the back and feel comfortable. The rocking motion is amazing it is so comfortable and relaxing to sit back and rock while outside. It works much better on ground instead of pavement/cement but it still works well. The chair folds up and goes back into the bag so easily. I love this chair! I look forward to troop meeting (all outside right now because of COVID) campouts and any reason to use the chair. I highly recommend this chair. Our scoutmaster is even trying to steal it from me....

Great except for the carry bag

I bought this to replace a Coleman Quad chair with built in cooler/organizer. I was between this and the GCI Kickback rocker (as these were the only ones that folded small). Being 6', I preferred this chair which sat higher. It folds easy and doesn't feel that much heavier than my old chair.

Compact, Medium weight, Easy to fold

Bought two of these from Dicks after using a friend's while camping. Cost $30 less at Dick's than Amazon for the exact same chairs, which is great because I like supporting local businesses. With Dick's wonderful return policy, there's also no risk if I wasn't completely satisfied. These Roadtrip Rockers fold like traditional camp chairs so they are compact and easily slide into the included travel bag which has a carry handle. The seat and back rest are deeper and higher than GCI's Freestyle Rocker, so it's comfortable for anyone above 5'4" like me. My boyfriend is 6'2" and he also likes it. The rocking motion is created with hydraulics, which can take a while to get used to but it loosens up after a while and is not as noticable. Let's face it, your Grandma's favorite rocking chair wouldn't do the trick on gravel and rough terrain, so this is the closest you're going to get! Mom loves the chair because it rocks and has stabilizer legs at the front, which is nice because she has trouble getting out of chairs and must apply her weight to the arm of the chair while trying to stand up...no worries about the chair tipping forward thanks to the stabilizer legs. Two thumbs up!! The material is of average weight and could be a little thicker, but I imagine that would make it too stiff to fold easily and conform to the storage bag. Same goes for the cupholder, but at least the chair has one so I can't complain too much. Overall, we're happy with the chair so far...but camping season is just beginning. I'll update my review after using the chair this summer and fall. Happy camping!
