Great pump for the price

I just replaced this pump in kind after failing from 15 years of use. Must say for the price 15 years is not a bad pay out. That pump didn’t owe me a thing.

Great pump for the price!

This is a great pump for water movement, I’ve used several these and love them. Easy to clean. My only problem is that since it’s an AC pump, there’s a 50/50 of the pump starting in the opposite direction when using a controller that turns it on/off and it makes a noticeable clicking noise when it does turn on the opposite direction.

Purchase with caution

I purchased two of these pumps three years ago. The first pump failed in December 2019 the second failed February 2020. At first glance you would think I got my money's worth but it is how these failed that matters. Both units developed cracks in their housings that allowed water to get to the electrical parts and began to pass voltage into the tank. IF YOU PURCHASE this pump you must inspect it regularly for cracks, failure to do so will not only put your safety at risk but the lives of you pets as well.

El artculo se ve muy bien. La atencin impecable. Creo no tuve suerte con ste porque hace mucho ruido y es muy molesto. El reactor da pequeos saltos hacia afuera y se pega contra la proteccin. No se si podr arreglarlo.

Electrical Hazard

Have had this pump for a couple of years. While working on the tank I got shocked twice! Checked it out with my electrical meter and found this pump was putting 115 V. into my tank. When I removed this pump I found that the motor housing had cracked all the way through. DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP! Electrical hazards in saltwater are not acceptable ever!

Cracked head near wire

Just the same got a shock this morning and noticed 3 of my pumps are cracked one is 6 months old and the 2 other near 2 years, this is very strange and it also runs backwards

Quiet low Cost Pump Works Great

Very quiet running, when it starts its a little loud but does not bother me. I will definitely buy more.

2 cracked in the same spot, electrifying my tank

I had 2 of these in my tank for just barely over two years. They both cracked in the exact same spot--where the label is on top right where the power cord comes into the devices. I noticed this when I got a nice shock sticking my arm in the tank. This is without a doubt a faulty design if both cracked exactly the same way. I'd expect to get more than 2 years out of a $50 power head that I cleaned every 3-4 months. I will never buy these dangerous poorly designed things again.

Great Inexpensive Pump

I have a 40 gallon reef tank. This pump in conjunction with another pump, and a Hydor Smart Wave pump controller, provides great variable flow to the tank. It could be a little quieter when it turns on and off, and it might wear out prematurely depending on the setting of the wave maker, but for the price I can afford it's decreased life span.

This little pump is one of the best pumps I have had for circulation. It is reliable easy to clean and puts out a reliable stream of water in my !00 gal tank.

Great Product

I must say these are by far some of most popular and widely used aquarium circulation pumps used in this hobby by beginnners, and experienced hobbyists. I've had two koralias for about 4 years now and I never ran into any problems other than the magnetic shaft expanding due to use but Hydors customer service is AMAZING and they replaced them. Again hydor products are simply perfect for any type of experienced hobbyist.

I purchased two of these for my 90g SW Tank and they are working great. If you don't need anything fancy like being able to control the speed should you plan on purchasing a Tank Controller later on down the road. Then I highly recommend purchasing these Hydor Koralia
