Not very impressed, especially considering cost

First of all, "American Woodcrafters" is totally misleading for a chair made in Vietnam. It COULD be a good chair, but. Assembly takes a long time -- you have to put in all bolts less than thumb-tight before you tighten anything. It would be nice if they packed the right kind of washers. And the screw-in feet will destroy my hardwood floor if I don't get new ones. I bought FOUR chairs, and I won't return them if Home Depot will give me some better washers and better-quality screw-in feet.

Terrible Quality!

The hardware on these chairs falls off constantly- the leg gliders, the screws underneath- when they swivel all of the screws fall out. I had to add hardware to keep them mildly functional, but they require constant maintenance to affect their wobbly design. When you lean back on the chair backs, the screws loosen. Tightening all the parts is a regular occurrence. Save yourself the extra efforts and avoid a purchase!

Quality Product!

The stools are very sturdy, assembly instructions are easy to follow. During assembly it is easier if you start ALL screws snug them down and after assembly come back and tighten all of them.The only thing wrong with these stools the swivels or not as free as my old stools,they should loosen up with use.

This goes perfect with my new kitchen. I'd give it an excellent rating, but the wooden seat had rough areas that seemed liked it was burnt. Fortunately, it is in the back and not so noticeable. I also wished I could have had the different type of wood seats available as other sites selling this. But the price was so good at Home Depot for the oak that I purchased it there.

Island Chairs

I like the chairs and they seem to be good quality. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 was that I had to widen the holes in the backrest to get the screws to line up and thread into the seat. It took a little extra time because this is visible, and I wanted it to look like it was made that way. The rest of it went together ok and the swivel works well on all three that I bought.

Attractive and easy to assemble.

Read the concerns some folks had about assembling, but it went together perfectly. We did NOT fully tighten the screws at each stage of assembly until all the parts were screwed together; e.g., the legs assembly with foot ring. Allows all the holes to find perfect alignment when screws arefully tightened.
