Quality Jute Rug

This was the perfect rug for our living room! We have travertine floors and were looking for something natural that wasn't high contrast. It does shed, evidenced by the vacuum contents but none of the weave has come loose (in over a year) like on some jute rugs I've had. It's a nice neutral--not too gold or greenish.

I love the over all look and the cream color of this rug. It is especially appealing with the subtle grey and light brown tones running through it. It is very much as pictured. The jute material feels durable although it is uncomfortable to walk on even with socks. I have only had the rug for a little over a week and already a piece of the weave is unraveling. The rug arrived several weeks after the stated delivery date upon purchase. I contacted the seller to confirm a delivery date and was told to contact the shipper.....not very helpful.

Awesome Rug!

I love this rug! It is thick and appears to be well made. It is a little bumpy to walk on, but it is not in a high traffic area. It really brightens up my dining room and the size is perfect for my space. The delivery couldn't have been any better either. I have a very long driveway and the delivery person parked at the end of the driveway and brought it all the way to the house without driving over my lawn which is really going above and beyond!

High Quality Jute

Beautiful thick jute rug. Color true to photo. Jute knotted for a tight weave. Adds texture to any decor. High quality for a very reasonable price. Size options are very limited, but if one of the available sizes works for you, you can't go wrong.

This rug actually looks better than the photo, as it has real "depth" to it. The chunky, textured jute is quite nice. I found the color to be darker than the photo on overstock, but still within acceptable limits. We have two large couches, and you can see that the 9x12 is adequate for grounding both pieces. There was no odor, no shedding and the rug rolled out flat immediately.

I was nervous when buying the rug at first without actually seeing it physically. I relied heavily on the pictures and description. Once I had it delivered and placed in my living room I was in love. It was EXACTLY as described and shown in the pictures. The material is strong and for being jute it is rather soft and comfortable. It does not feel scratchy on bare feet. It has a great color and definitely a great quality. It adds a great finish to my home. I am completely satisfied with this purchase!

Pretty rug but not for me

The seller rates five stars for shipment of this rug. No problems whatever. The rug was packed in 2 plastic bags with the outer of a heavier gauge plastic. It was apparent that the company who delivered the product, took great care to provide good service. . . . . The rug is pretty but the texture, even with a good rug pad, is hard to walk on. We don't wear shoes in the house and this rug felt like we were walking on rocks. Other reviewers thought the rug was soft so perhaps it is our feet. While putting the rug in the room, I stepped on something that seemed hard and sharp. I turned out to be 2 pieces of q-tip sticks that were wound around one of the "yarn" areas. It appeared as though it was used to hold down an area that was not woven correctly. This was a small but disappointing problem. Our main issue is the rough texture of the carpet. We have a sisal area rug that is quite soft and we thought the jute rug would be soft as well after reading some reviews. We dislike returning items so we are keeping the area rug for a couple of years but would never buy a jute rug again.

Beautiful soft and stylish

This rug is gorgeous! I've been getting lots of compliments on this rug. Be aware that this is a natural fiber rug, so the weave has some inconsistencies, thinner areas then others or thicker knots every now and then. The color is very true to the picture. The rug is soft under your feet and not rough at all, but it seems to be a very strong material. I've only had the rug for about a week, so I'm hoping that it will hold up in my living room since it's a high traffic area without unraveling or coming apart.

Searched high and low for a natural fiber rug for main living area. Had ordered an 8 x 10 on another site and wanted the 10 x 14, but not the price. Found this one at HALF the cost of the other site. THANK YOU OVERSTOCK.COM! This rug is perfect! Love the look and it doesn't have an odor. Yes - does leave dust under as any other jute rug, but this too shall pass. Feels great underfoot and even the dogs like it. Haven't had any pulls. GREAT value and product!

Chunky and soft - just what I was looking for

This is exactly what I was looking for. I just got the rug and it looks like something you'd get from Pottery Barn. Of course, it's got a hand woven quality which makes the weave uneven at times but I think that's to be expected. I think it a little darker than the picture and it has variability in the color, meaning that there may be one line that runs the whole length that's a little darker than the rest. It's subtle though. I think the rug is soft, not scratchy, but the knots are big so your bare feet will definitely feel the texture. One thing that I did notice is that my puppy found the messy knots immediately. I'll have to stay on top of that! All in all, a good product so far. There is a minor odor but that's been my experience with these jute and natural canvas type threads. It should go away.

So Worth It

First time ordering from Rugs Direct. Was nervous that the rug would not be what I was hoping for. I could not be happier. Bought this one for my bedroom. Just redid it for a light and airy look. It's a beautiful jute rug. Color is what I expected. Light bleached jute with slight touches of natural fiber. Other jute rugs I've seen were very thin. This one is thick and beautifully made. Very impressed, would order again. In fact I might just get the natural color for my living room.
