A good print of the classic film. The first half has several set-piece scenes: a twee small seaside town in holiday season, shark attacks, beach mass panic, and suspense scenes, glued together by Scheider's concerned police chief, overruled by `business before safety' mayor, Hamilton. Shaw leads the Ahab-like shark hunt in the second half, aided by Dreyfus & Scheider. Two lasting cultural influences: Williams's famous Psycho-like shark theme & Shaw's `We're going to need a bigger boat'.

Fear the sharks

The best shark film of all time and maybe one of the best Steven Spielberg's film jaws is a perfect example of how who can be done. It's the reason why so many people still fear sharks today and with good reason.

I went to the theater when Jaws first came out it really scared me. I guess it goes to show what 40 plus years does to your fear level. It's still an okay movie but not what I remembered.

A classic by any metric, Spielberg’s 1975 masterpiece inspired countless filmmakers %26 continues to prove what ingenuity and creativity in cinema can accomplish. This is a classic. Everyone who likes movies owe it to themselves to see this at some point of their lives. The cast is extremely likeable and the setting is great.

Only 5 bucks

This was in the $5 bin along with a 100 (?) other titles. I figure for $5, I couldn’t go too wrong. I bought about 10 different ones.
