Great bed frame with a solid headboard for the price. Assembly was relatively easy and straightforward. Looks nice. Only minor complaints I have are how light it is, which makes it slide around on a hard floors very easily, and some occasional popping sounds when moving on it. It should be said that I haven’t put it through any, “athletic” testing though, so your mileage may vary. The box is very big and heavy so if you need to get it upstairs like I did, you’ll probably want help unless you’re just a total beast.

Cute, very easy to assemble

This bed was a great choice for my mom. It's cute, stylish, and was very easy for my husband to assemble. It took him maybe 45 minutes. I like that the slats use velcro rather than screws, as I've seen people complaining that other platform beds have too many predrilled holes that don't line up. Velcro solves that problem. Platforms beds are naturally low to the ground, which is ideal for my mom, but keep that in mind if you're wanting your bed to be high.

solid wood platform frame.. great deal

I wanted a solid platform, this fit the bill, tall enough to use under bead storage. I attached a screen as a headboard and its perfect. I would buy it again if I need another frame. Much better looking then a metal frame. and easy to put together. I did it by myself.

Definitely worth it! I like this bed

I'm really impressed with this platform bed. It is solid pine wood as stated, and it was super easy to put together, the instructions were very clear, the hardware was organized really well, and even the styrofoam protective packaging material was nicely wrapped in plastic bags to keep the styrofoam bits from floating around my apartment. And they gave me a handy socket-wrench-like allen key to help tighten everything. There is attention to the detail with this piece of furniture. It looks great, I just need my mattress now :-) I'm amazed at how advanced these furniture makers have become, it is much improved since my student days.

This wood frame is on a hardwood floor and doesn’t move or rattle at all! I have a 14” memory foam mattress on it, king size, and it fits great. The center bar support for this king size frame is going to be the savior! So far so good, happy with the purchase and so are the cats! LOL

Sturdy but inconsistancies exist amongst the beds.

I would have given this 5 stars if the first bed received had been delivered complete. It came with no hardware, directions or packing slip. I reached out to Overstock via email. They seemed to have a communication problem with the company. After around 6 days a very apologetic and nice Overstock rep called me and said that they would send me a new bed and that I could keep the one I had. That was good because it would have been very difficult for me to return. The new bed came, complete with hardware but the frame was different; the side rails were not solid pieces of wood, but rather spliced together. It was also more orange in color then the first bed. The first bed frame was perfect but didn't have holes drilled for the bed slats. So I used parts from both beds to complete my final bed. It was easy to put together, and it is very sturdy. I am happy with the final product.

im incredibly impressed with this bed frame. first of all, the packaging was brilliant. compact, very well thought out, and puzzled together in the box with a lot of care. the styrofoam was even wrapped in plastic so you wont get annoying little pieces all over the place. SO THOUGHTFUL. as others have mentioned, the tool it comes with is incredible. not just your normal allen wrench, but like a mini ratchet. its great. the instructions could be a touch more clear. the pieces are apparently assigned letters, but you dont see that anywhere except for on the first page of the instructions. all of the holes are assigned numbers, which are labeled on the pieces themselves. but still, it wasn't terribly difficult to figure that out. just made start up a little more tedious than it needed to be. everything fit together perfect!! the hard wood is beautiful. and once the bed is put together, it is SO INCREDIBLY STURDY. i actually jumped on it (once i put my mattress on it lol) and the thing barely moved. i was especially impressed by the design of the slats. they come in two parts, held together by velcro. and they velcro onto a ledge on the inside of the sode boards. not inky that, but the slat closest to the center of each set has a small hole in it that fits onto a dowel on the ledge. for even more support!! im seriously so in awe of this bed. it sits low, which is what i was looking for. i have a very tiny bedroom, so i needed something that isnt overwhelming. this is totally the perfect thing. i also dont like metal frames, which is really all i could find except this one. there isnt anything metal about this, except for the one support beam that runs the middle from head to foot. everything else is sturdy, beautiful, hardwood. it doesnt budge, it doesn't squeak, ot doesnt wobble. and its absolutely beautiful. if i could give it 10 stars I totally would <3

Solid wood, great buy!

I purchased this to replace the metal frame and box spring on my bed since my cats had pretty much destroyed my box spring from the bottom. This came well boxed and was easy to put together. It could be a one person job, but much easier with two. Everything is well labeled. The best part is that the slats are actually on a velcro strip, so they are perfectly spaced and there is no need to screw each board down. Since I have cat scratching issues, I did put a very thin piece of plywood on top of the slats. A couple of the slats actually have a double sided tape on them that help keep your mattress from sliding off the base. Color-wise, it much exactly matches my oak floors. I have the old 1940's red oak floors. Overall, this was a great buy. It's really solid, not even a squeak after a month of use. I wouldn't hesitate to buy if you're on the fence about it.

Perfect for Young Children

The Zinus Julia Wood Platform Bed was perfect for us. Upon opening the box, I was pleasantly surprised. It was packaged well and it's made from solid wood (which is great because my toddler is rambunctious and plywood would have stood no chance). This twin bed will be used in my two-year-old's bedroom as a replacement for a toddler bed she was quickly outgrowing and I would definitely recommend this for any young child’s room. As you can see in my picture, the bed is nice and low to the ground so it’s easy for younger children to climb in and out of. It isn't so high off the ground that a fall off of it would be dangerous. I also love that you don’t have to have a box spring (which adds extra height to a bed) since it’s a platform frame and the wooden slats are very sturdy. The actual construction of the bed was simple and did not require any extra help on my part. There were only a few simple steps and they were very easy to follow. I am very excited for this bed as it's simple style and sturdy construction should be able to grow with my daughter and last quite a few years.

Easier than IKEA

I’ve had my fair share of IKEA products over the years. This, by far, what is the simplest product I have ever had to build in my life. Instructions were simple and easy to read with big bold font. The number system was extremely easy to figure out. You almost did not need to use the instructions. Whoever decided to throw in a socket Allen wrench tool, you deserve an award. It’s so nice not being able to have to use the provided Allen wrench when you could use a multi tool like socket wrench provided. The item definitely matches the description and takes approximately 25 minutes for one person to build. The packaging, is almost just as good as the product. Whoever decided to wrap the Styrofoam and plastic, your brain was in the right place!

Well made and looks great!

This is my second Zinus Priage bed frame in the same style. My wife and I purchased the first one in twin size for a guest bedroom, and liked it so much that now we purchased this queen size for a part time rental property we stay in. The frame arrived in a single long, rectangular box. The box was pretty beaten up by the carrier, but everything inside was well padded and there was no damage to the frame. Setup was a snap and took about 30 minutes from unpacking to final product. Zinus makes assembly easy with well labeled parts and great directions with lots of pictures. Oh and they even included a little mini-ratchet assembly tool in addition to the standard Allen wrench - a great bonus! The wood is high quality and the finish was even. Everything went together easy and fit well. One tip is to only lightly tighten all of the bolts when you first put each set of pieces together - save the final tightening for the end once it is completely assembled. This way you have a little give if you need it when putting sections together. Highly recommended and I expect it to last for a very long time.

Nice and sturdy

This is a nice little bed and pretty good quality. I like the quality of the wood. It is actual wood vs the particle board that a lot of furniture is made of these days. I especially like how the wooden slats fit snugly within the frame, have Velcro to hold them in place as well as 2 pegs on both sets to hold them in place. My experience in the past with wooden slats on a bed were not good experiences, but with these simple measures to hold them in place make a world of difference. It even has tape that you peel the backside off and it sticks to the mattress to keep it from sliding around. It was pretty simple to put together. I did run into a small issue where one of the last bolt holes was drilled in at an angle instead of straight and after a little struggle I was able to get it together. I did think the bed is a little low for a platform bed so I ordered a box spring to add to it. I think it is the perfect size for small children or a guest bed. It also fits great in the small back bedroom of my house. It leaves a good amount of space in that small room. Nice and simple design and it would look great in any room. It is nice and sturdy and it gives off a nice clean appearance. I would buy again, for the quality you receive versus what else is out there on the market, you can’t go wrong with this piece!

I’m not sure if it was from a long day on the computer or if the instructions are really that confusing but I had the hardest time figuring out steps 1 & 2. It think the letters used for the parts list and the numbers used for assembly being printed in the same photo added to my confusion.

This review is specifically for packaging and assembly - Queen size Zinus Santiago - we have not used the bed yet. Even though i put together many shelves, desks, and cabinets, I was reluctant to buy a bed that requires assembly. But a friend recently purchased and was pleased with Zinus bed. (we purchased it on Amazon) Bed arrived on time. I was impressed how sturdy the shipping box was. Inside, there was another just as sturdy inner box. There is no chance that contents would get damaged in transit. The contents were arranged inside with the perfect precision - no movement shifting or banging. I was totally amazed to see that *each* styrofoam spacer was placed inside of the plastic sleeve! - NO messy styrofoam flakes after unpacking. The assembly was very easy. It took me a little over an hour at a *leisure pace* in a cramped space. The holes are aligned with laser precision. The hardware is high quality - the nuts and bolts are well-threaded and fit perfectly. It takes virtually no effort to assemble the parts. And Instructions deserve whole a lot of praise! Clear, concise, large, easy to follow schematics. Other manufactures should learn form Zinus how to make and ship their stuff. Thank you Zinus! I hope I will be just as pleased when we begin using the bed. -> I will update this review if needed.
