Bought two and the look very different :-/

It’s a keeper

Arrived yesterday, and we put in room today.. lays flat right away! Very earthy looking and I’m happy with the purchase…. As others mention, it is thin, but I don’t find that bothersome at all. We have 2 dogs and the simpler the better… it does have frays that I wish it didn’t, but I’ll keep an eye on those. I think it’s striking in the right setting!

I’m happy with the look of this rug and the value for the price point. Yes, it’s a bit rough - I was expecting that. I’ve had jute rugs that were softer underfoot which I would have preferred but I don’t plan on lounging on the floor and don’t have kids so not a deal breaker. I put a plush rug pad underneath with rubber backing to give it a sturdier appearance. HOWEVER I am really REALLY annoyed about the inaccurate size description. I purchased the 9x12 and it’s about 7” shorter in length and about 3 1/2” in width. Unfortunately this completely changed how my furniture looked underneath it and it super annoys me. I passed on a few other rugs because they were shy of 9X12 and said so in there description. I’ve already returned one rug before purchasing this one, and it is such a hassle so I’m just going to deal, but I am not pleased. Didn’t see anyone mention this in any reviews so wanted to make others aware. (First photo is how much of my rug pad I had to trim to fit under the rug. A decent amount of rug would have been under the chair and without those inches it just has one tiny leg on there. Hard to get the full effect in the picture but it just doesn’t look as grand as I hoped in real life due to the slightly smaller size of the rug)

I've bought lots of Safavieh items but this one was a little disappointing. I loved the design but the rug was very flat and didn't have any structural backing. We had the rug out for 2 weeks and the edges and sides started to curl. My husband also didn't like the variation in the print, which he thought was going to be more solid charcoal color. We ended up exchanging for another Safavieh rug that we are VERY happy with.
