Very easy to assemble! Almost everything came zippered inside the headboard. I would suggest ditching the wood slats and putting the box spring(s) on the floor as a thicker mattress will cover most of the headboard. The reason I deducted a star is because I purchased this in black, however, the box clearly states the bed is charcoal and it absolutely looks more gray than black. This was very disappointing as I did want a black bed.

DO NOT PURCHASE BEDS FROM BOYD SLEEP! I purchased a bed from them and when I lay down on it, the flimsy legs slipped on my tile floor bending the legs and eventually breaking the center support board. This break caused the 1x1 board on the right side rail to snap in half and the mattress fell to the floor. This bed does not support the weight of one person much less more than that. I got in contact with Boyd Sleep and told them about my situation and they sent a replacement part, but the 1x1 board on the side rail did not match the left side so I had to compensate for that when placing the mattress slats on them. The slats had to be slanted somewhat because the 1x1 board on the new part was shorter in length than the left side. Eventually I just requested my money back because I realized how flimsy this bed was and how it would eventually break again. The side rails are made of particle board instead of being real wood. How is that supposed to hold a 225 lbs man? After I sent the email to attempt to get a refund, no one ever replied to me. It's like they went silent! Now I have spent all that money to purchase a paper weight because that's all this bed is. Less

Very solid construction at an impressive price! It is low to the floor but its not too bad! The directions included were easy to follow and it was a breeze putting this bed frame together.
