Works great. Drove across country n kept it on floor for my dog to drink when he wanted. The only mess from it was when his mouth was dripping after drinking, not from the bowl

another purchase for my road trip a few years ago, and i’m mildly obsessed with it. as a sailor i’m super familiar with designs like this that are made for rocky conditions, so I was impressed that kurgo made something so smartly designed. I can attest to the fact that it did not spill a single time. for some reason rex didn’t like drinking water out of it (maybe the lips?) but I used it for food and he did begrudgingly drink water out of it anyway. he is a very picky, particular dog! plus it was great for putting on the ground since it was durable, wouldn’t get gross, and had traction and weight. awesome product!

All silicone pet dishes used w/water- eventually develop mold w/normal washing

Purchased several types of silicone bowls, including this one made of silicone, but to my disappointment all develop mold with normal washing w/even antibacterial dish soap. There are ceramic, heavy one piece non-spill bowls that will not have this problem, as well as plastic w/pop off lids which cannot hurt pet in moving car- if you search which will not develop mold w/normal washing. However, there is something about the substance of silicone, which must be more porous and more conducive to mold growth when wet than plastic is. A soft silicone dish possibly could be all right if it is regularly disinfected yes but why go through that; also keep in mind that the silicone appears to be more porous than harder plastic + may absorb strong cleaners. Silicone, as does rubber, also degrades with heat, cold, age.and also certain cleaning material, + also certain cleaning materials. But normal washing w/soap + water as one would do with ceramic, plastic or stainless steel bowls will not prevent the mold growth- I looked one day after several months of use w/regular washings, + I was horrified as the mold was not obvious on the dark greyish-teal colored bowl.

This is a great travel bowl.

No More Splashing

I bought this for my cat who has a bad habit of playing in his water bowl and making a mess. He can’t splash water out of it and has lost interest in water play, but he has no problem drinking out of it. Obviously this isn’t what the product was designed for, but it was a huge win for our household.
