Unhappy with the door lock

The door handle fit ok. The lock was the wrong lock for my door. I showed them pictures and was told what to order and that it would fit. It did not fit at all. I'm very disappointed.

This is a great handleset. I would have given 5 stars, but the smart key is a great feature, but can be a bit tricky. If it doesn’t work right the first time or you mess it up, there is no way to do it again or fix it.

The Kwikset Handleset was very easy to install. I was replacing a Baldwin lockset (the locking mechanism had cracked) so the holes for the door were drilled already, but the new handset wasn’t the same size and shape, but the Kwikset allowed for a more flexible installation. It was a lot easier to do than I had expected and it looks great, although aligning the internal and external parts did require some work. It was about $40-50 cheaper than a comparable Baldwin set.

Bought to replace original door handle and was fairly easy to install. It claimed to be guaranteed to fit, but it didn’t. A new hole had to be drilled but it was close enough that the style of hardware covered it.

Easy to install and use

I prefer Kwikset locks with SmartKey for the ease of changing the lock to fit a different key. In this case, I bought this unit to match the KwikSet keyless door lock I installed on my front door. Everything matches and the combination of the two has a bold, distinctive look. The Prescott Venetian entry door handle is easy to install and easy to change the key configuration.

Seemed Complicted at First

This handleset worked great. Fortunately, it fit the holes already in our door. At first, the directions made it seem complicated to install. There are several adjustible parts. After reading the directions a few times and measuring everthing a couple of times, everything fit right our of the box. I had a little trouble getting the tool in that is suppose to set the lock to our key. I wasn't sure it worked but, in the end, everthing worked great.

Beautiful design, safe feeling!

This door knob set is stunning. It adds a touch of class to my front door, which I love. It was very easy for my husband to install and seems to be very sturdy. I love the smart key technology. Knowing that my home is safe from break ins gives me a piece of mind that I’ve never had before.

Here's a lockset with a confidence inspiring appearance complete with a durable finish (lifetime warranty) equipped with Kwikset technology for ease of managing your security systems. Not only is designed for left or right side opening doors but comes with extra inside handle to assure aesthetic appeal. The included instructions are for several different models so some care is needed by the installer to sort through which portions are applicable or not. The mechanisms themselves have more than average adjustments that allow for fitment without having to modify the door's openings which is helpful but at the same time can be somewhat confusing during setup. My favorite ease of installation incorporated trick is the self-aligning outdoor long handle fastening stud which eliminates the frustrating chore of drilling a hole in exactly the right place since nothing cries "amateur" more then something being crooked.

I have used many Kwikset locks over the years and I have come to trust the brand due to the quality and stylish looks. This handle set and deadbolt did not disappoint me. The installation was simple enough although I had to drill the bottom hole in the door for the bottom of the handle. Luckily, there was a template in the instructions to help guide me as to where the hole needed to go. The hardware installs just as I would have expected. It took me about an hour total to drill the hole, remove the old and install the new hardware. One word of caution is to make sure to follow the instructions on the smartkey process to rekey it to your existing key. I got in a hurry and messed it up and had to remove the cylinder to reset it. Luckily, there’s videos on the internet for how to do this. The looks of the bronze lockset is beautiful and matches our trim on the outside of the house. The handle feels good in the hand and the kit even comes with a reverse handle for the inside. There’s all the hardware needed to install this except a screwdriver and a drill (if you need to drill the bottom hole). Overall, we’re really pleased with the looks and function of this set.

Good quaility

We just bought a house. And wanyed to upgrade our door.. The one that was on the house was in nice shape just old. So while we where door shopping we came across the smart lock and handle. It is beautifully made. Strong and durable super easy to insall and adds elegance to the old door once we added paint and this smart handle we didnt have to install a whole door. I love it and highly reccomend it

I installed my new "KWIKSET PRESCOTT VENETIAN BRONZE SINGLE CYLINDER ENTRY DOOR HANDLESET WITH TUSTIN LEVER FEATURING SMARTKEY SECURITY" lockset and took pictures, see below. It comes with fairly good instructions, sometimes a bit hard to follow, but done well enough that I could install the lockset by myself. My old lockset had a longer handle, so I had to drill a new hole for the bottom of the handle unit for this new Kwikset. The instructions said I needed a 7/16th drill bit to do this, which I did not have even though I have a pretty good selection of bits. Most common drill bit sets don't come with a 7/16th bit. So, after going to 2 of my neighbors to see if they had one, neither of them did... So I ended up using my 5/16th bit and it worked great! Other than that, everything went as planned. I like the look of this new set. (Oh, it would also have been nice if Kwikset would supply a hole cover so when someone like me has to drill a new hole that causes the new handle to not cover the old hole, there is something to cover the old hole with. I found a small round metal charm that I superglued over the old hole, so I found a solution. You might be able to see that in the finished door pictures.)
