Good heavy duty steel.

These were pretty expensive compared to wire found at local box stores, but was able to purchase them cheaper through Sam's than from the actual retailer. Good heavy quality steel that I had no problem driving 10 inches into hard ground. The steel install tool or a 2' piece of heavy gauge angle iron makes the job much easier.

Great solution for stopping digging animals from getting into my duck and chicken pens. The top bar is a bit weak and as they are pounded into the ground, if there is a bit of resistances, it bends and will not lay flat. Many of them had to be pulled out and straightened then pounded back in because of hard ground. All in all good product.

Sturdy and looks just as expected. Expect 5 star performance if your application area is without buried stones and rocks. That was not the case in most areas I applied it, so note that just one tine making contact with a stone will be the limiting factor on how deep you will be able to drive the entire piece.

Difficult to install but works well

Purchased these to secure my chicken coop from predators. It has works extremely well for that purpose but they were difficult to install. They were more flimsy than I would've liked. When hammering them into the ground, they seemed to flex and bring up the opposite side. You almost need 2 people hammering in each side at the same time.

Prevents digging as advertised

A couple of days after installing my new fence, my dog taught herself how to roll her tennis balls underneath the fence and then dig underneath the fence so she could attempt to get the balls back. So, I ordered the "Dig Defense" barriers in the hopes that this would stop her from digging, and it works! The prongs are close enough together that tennis balls can't get through, so she's given up on the game. My soil is red clay so they are a bit difficult to hammer into the ground; I found that it was helpful to place a small board on top of the barrier before hammering, which prevented the barrier from bending and gave it a bit more force to drive into the ground. Also, once I got them into the ground, I zip-tied the tops of the Dig Defense panels to the fence panels for extra security. I was a bit skeptical because they seemed pricey for the simple construction, but they have been amazingly helpful and I highly recommend these barriers.

[Rewarded Review] Great idea, could use improvements

I have an aluminum fence that has some large gaps beneath that I worry my dogs will someday squeeze beneath. So far, they aren't diggers, but.. these work for that as well. I've watched several installation videos and they said they come with a footlong object that grasps the top of the fence that you can slide up and down and hit to even out the surface taking the brunt of the hit. Well, I wish mine came with that because it would've been helpful because they were actually difficult to hammer in, and afterwards, even though I used the side of the hammer like they recommended... it ended up bending the metal wire so it isn't completely straight. Also, would love to see these come in a different color. I'll be spraypainting these black to match my aluminum fence. Would also think they would work better if the stakes were pointed instead of flat. The gauged wire is just a little too thick and doesn't go into the ground as easy as I thought it would.
