I was excited to receive this item. I reviewed it and ensured that the glass top was removable prior to ordering. I just received it and the answer to the question on the page is incorrect - it is most definitely NOT removable. As it is it's not a bad hurricane but was interested in using the top on another hurricane that has a much higher base. If you're looking for something simple that's not too large this is for you! The base is somewhat of a smoky glass and the top is clear.
