No Heat After Year and a Half

Worked fine for about a year and a half. I am in Florida and its freezing temps right now, just noticed the heat no longer works. Pretty new unit and it was 600$, I am now down the drain 600$ for this unit plus having to now purchase another one. Avoid this unit.

This will be the second time we have had to return this product because it simply does not work at all. We have even had them checked by an HVAC technician, nothing. Very disappointing, especially considering how much time I spent researching the best rated window AC unit. Makes me doubt the other reviews and wonder how many of them were bots and paid reviews. Won't be taking a chance on this brand again.

Easy installation

It works well. Installation straight forward, window AC installed as through-the-wall. Used THQL2120GFTP 230 volt 2-pole 20A breaker was $35. Controls by Wi-Fi Phone, Bluetooth remote, button.

Works well. Cools my home. And I couldn't be happier. This is a replacement. The original one I had stopped cooling. But I took it as an off chance of manufacturing defect. But since then Iam vary pleased with home Depot and LG for being prompt and understanding. To help me replace it fast. Every step of the way. I recommend it.

Buy another brand

Bought 7/8/2023 stopped working 8/31/3023 when I turned it on. Coils inside rusting quite a bit near bottom on sides. This is just in my 12x14 outside media room an is only used few times a month at the most never just runs daily. Never used heater but did try it when cooling an it works. So maybe LG should stick to heaters only. Total waste of money to last a year with minimal use.

I made the mistake of buying an LG air conditioner. It lasted for ONE year! The cool side first started acting by overheating and the machine would shut down. Called LG and they said it was NOT designed to run all the time. Its supposed to be shut off daily to basically rest. That was a new one to me. After doing this all season it wouldn't cool anymore. But hey the heat still works! It will be replaced soon. On a side not we made a HUGE mistake and bought a refridgerator. Come to find out they are so bad there is a class action lawsuit against them! DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS. If you choose to good luck and have fun with customer service!

Sled right into space, easy to use, and I’ve enabled the Wi-Fi functions, but haven’t even tried them yet because there’s really no need. I can set the thermostat when I leave the house and make it colder when I come home. We haven’t gotten to Winter yet but hope it’ll be fine.

This air conditioner was easy to install and fit perfectly in the window. I was shown recommendations for other parts that might be needed such as the bracket and foam. This saved me an additional trip. I ordered everything online and picked up at the store. The person who brought everything to my vehicle was friendly and helpful.

Home Depot Employee Said it Would Work - Doesn't!

Amid the hurricane Beryl fallout, on Day 3 of no power, I was lucky to get an AC when Home Depot put this out. The guy working there said it would work with the Generac DP6500 (a generator Home Depot sells and that I'd just got at another big box store).

Cools quickly

This is the second LG I purchased for my garage home office. The last one which was 18,000btu was over powered for the space and did not dehumidify, but was excellent at cooling and heating. This time I bought a smaller model which is working fine. my only disappointment was that it does not include the "swing" feature which moves air back and forth. One feature I really like is that the display is bright enough and large enough for me to see across the room. I also like having a remote.

The previous identical unit lasted only 2 years. Very hard to get anyone to work on window units. We are confined to few choices as to heat/ac and window size. Very happy with performance but not happy with short time working. We use energy saver. Filter screen cleans easily and I like the alert when it needs cleaning.

This is the fourth of these I have bought in the last year. One was damaged (fan) when it arrived. Another lasted nearly a year and quit working. Home Depot does fine - LG will honor the warranty -but you will get the run around. Multiple emails about whether you have it plugged in and the right voltage. I can get it fixed or refunded - but the time it takes is hardly worth it. I would look at other brands. I would not recommend LG.

Temp control

The unit is fairly nice and a decent noise level. The major issue i have is that the temperature sensor and display are nowhere near accurate. This unit is anywhere between 4 to 8 degrees off from the actual room temp. This is with all doors shut, no alternate air flow and based on 4 separate thermometers at various locations and heights all reading within 1 degree of each other.

This is my 3rd. Purchase of LG air conditioning units! I have always had excellent luck with all units, no problems and extremely reliable for years!!

Installation Process is a Hassle

This unit requires you to take off the case, install the case into the window, then slide the unit into the case. It may sound simple but as many other reviews have mentioned, it is a major hassle. First, there's a good chance the foam inside the case has hardened or warped, so you can't easily slide the case out as the instructions tell you. It took two of us at least 30 minutes to pry this thing out. Other than that, it works as described.

Replacement purchase

All good. I read so many reviews of various products that did not work or bad delivery so very nervous on ordering this one. However, everything worked right out of the box. Checked auto cool, heat, fan speeds, dehumidify. All good. Also amazed that Fed Ex truck drove it from Ohio distribution center to South Florida with not one nick, dent, or damage to carton. Now hoping it will last many years. Also much quieter when cooling than the LG I replaced. The only feature I do not like is that the LG turns on every 5 minutes to circulate the air. Maybe that is a good thing but it wakes me up. I would much rather it only comes on when the thermostat detects the need for cooling (like how most AC's work). Also it would be nice if LG lasted a few more years. Both my previous LG AC and LG Microwave only lasted a few years and stopped working. Overall so far I am glad I purchased this unit.

Purchased 01/20/22 Broken 08/17/22

Purchased this unit brand new and had it delivered to my home in January 2022. Unit worked decently, cooled the room within 7-10 minutes. Had immediate issues with the faceplate not staying on. As of 08/17/22 the fans have seemed to stop working. The compressor comes on but the fans do not circulate the cooled air out of the unit now. LG support is awful I have to wait 48 hours to even get an appointment. Which means this won’t be repaired for at least a week in the middle of summer in FL. 0/10

LG 12,000 with heat

The unit works well. You have to be sure you read the directions and find the 4 small screws to remove the unit to be able to install the frame. It needs a little more than just the thin pull out wing panels on the sides. I added a PVC piece to each side on the outside and caulked them in, leaving an air space between. The support brackets would not work in my application. Windowsill was not available to adjust brackets to.
