Not Quite Pleased

I purchased a pair of the white nightstands. There are a few imperfections and I am annoyed by the defects. After putting one of the nightstands together, I immediately noticed the drawer is unleveled. It is obvious the glide pieces that were installed prior to shipping are not perfectly aligned. I opened the box to begin assembling the second nightstand and noticed the pieces had been boxed with a noticeable chip in one of the panels and the cardboards have streaks. Not only is the drawer unleveled on the first nightstand, but on the second also. I only gave a 3-star rating because I like the style of the nightstands, they arrived in a couple of days, and were not difficult to assemble. Yes, the customer has to assemble. Hope the pair of nightstands hold up well.

Uneven nighstands

Bought two of these to match the tv stand that I had bought from a separate seller. One of the nightstands was fine, the drawer was a little uneven, as one corner was higher up than the other. Eyesore more than anything, big deal. BUT the second nightstand, the holes to put in the screws and wood tabs, were so completely off. If I was to assemble it according to the directions, the top piece of the nightstand was over an inch off. So one side was short and you could see the tops of side panels and the back of it had over an inch of overhang. Ridiculous. - Also this may not be verified, but only because it was purchased as guest.

Bought two and really love them. There are a few reviews that say there’s a gap or that the draw doesn’t close properly.. I’d just like to reassure future buyers that this is not a design flaw but an assembling mistake. The piece of wood meant to be the inner shelf just above the drawer is shorter than the top piece of wood. Just make sure you have the inner piece of wood laying flush with the back of the stand and this allows the drawer to close properly. If you lay the inner shelf flush with the front of the stand it will cause a gap and the drawer will not close. I think they’re lovely and go well with our old world type bedroom theme.

The nightstand is good quality. One thing is the picture looks like black legs and they are actually a dark brown. My only criticism is how the drawers fit once it’s built. They don’t a-line perfectly making one side uneven. It’s not extremely noticeable but it is something that I found when building. And I don’t think it’s a one off thing because I bought two of them and they both do the same thing. Other then that I love how they came out. I switched the handles out to go with something more neutral as you can see in the photographs.

I was really impressed with how well this item was packaged. Everything was very protected and padded - there is no way a careless delivery person could ruin it. I was also pleased with the clear, complete instructions and the fact that they included a few spares with the hardware. The assembled nightstand is now in my bedroom and is absolutely perfect. I chose the version with the marquetry/mosaic style drawer front. The pictures don't necessarily convey that this drawer front is smooth. I thought it would have raised bumps, but upon closer inspection, that was just an optical illusion. I still really like it though.

Cute mid century modern style nightstand, narrow enough to fit in small spaces. Tons of space to store books, journals or other necessities. Very stylish, yet simple. I bought two of them to put on either side of my bed and the look is great! It was very simple to put together, the directions were very easy to follow. It was nice how they included a little bag of extra pieces (screws, nails, etc) in case anything was missing. I have been ordering furniture, area rugs, kitchen towels and so many things from Overstock.com in the last 6 months and it has been awesome. Everything from ordering to delivery is so simple and even FUN to do! Thanks Overstock!
