I wanted to give it a 3 star because the fit and finish were sloppy (considering the price paid). It leaked around the input. The designer needs to tighten up the tolerances. With that said, the customer service was fantastic! Can’t tighten the handle without scratching the finish so I suspect that I will have to keep tightening. They solved my issues and is why I gave them a four star. They verified my purchase and after, I was good to go.

New Review - July, 2024 - after using several months: After having wrestled with this cart and wanting to believe the concept yielded a good product, I am really unhappy with this thing. Maybe I wanted to not admit I fell as a vulnerable fool to a $179 piece of garbage.

Maybe a little better than most of the China made hose reels. Really sad we cant buy quality USA made products at any price.

Poor quality control…it broke on first use at the crank handle to reel joint. Rather than return it I welded it at that joint and has been fine since.

Better than similar 4 wheel models

I have over 1600 feet of hoses and 5 different metal hose reels. The quality and assembly is similar. Leakage isn't a problem as I use them for winter storage. Woobly wheels can be fixed with a few big washers. Two big wheels make it more maneuverable. The 2 wheel design can be held down with a foot while winding, a great advantage. And yes, this will hold over 300 feet of hose, if you carefully layer the hose on the reel. More durable than plastic.

Much easier to use than 4 wheel models

I have 4 other metal hose reels that are similar to this but have 4 wheels. They all are about the same in terms of assembly, capacity and features. There are 2 things that set this one apart: 1) the two large wheels make it easier to move and maneuver, and 2) I can hold this one down and easily hold it steady by placing one foot on the area where the rubber bumpers contact the ground. If you have used one of the 4 wheel models you know how much the thing wants to move around when you wind the hose. It is very annoying. I highly recommend this over the 4 wheel models.

This hose reel concept is great, however the design is awful! It is definitely over-priced for what you get. No matter how tight you get the fittings when you unroll the hose the T-fitting backs off the nut (circled in red in the photo) and the hose reel disconnects, falls off and water goes everywhere. Had they used left-handed threads the reel would fall off when you roll up the hose. Just a bad design.

The hose cart was satisfactory with the following exception: The axle was either too long or the threads on the end were not cut far enough in; the result being the wheels would wobble. The solution was to add enough washers to fill in a 3/8 inch gap and the washers would need to fit over the thickest part of the axle.

Better quality than I expected

It is sturdier than I thought it would be. It holds 100' of 5/8" garden hose with room to spare on the spool. The spool spins easily even with 100' of hose on it.
