the drawers are very hard to open and close

If you follow the directions, it is easy to put together. The bookcase should be fastened to a wall because it is a bit wobbly if it's free standing. the desk is wonderful!
Really beautiful, small desk. It is pretty easy to assemble desk as well. The only problem was that there was a small chipped corner on one of the legs.

Nice desk
This is a nice little desk that we purchased to use in a communal office setting. We put three in the same space and they fit together great.

Small desk - great look
My son built this desk for me, and he was impressed with the details when it was finished. I agree with him and am pleased with this purchase.
Very pleased to find this desk as it is almost impossible to find a small inexpensive desk that has a file cabinet. It was a bit difficult to put together but worth it in the end. The colors match our other furniture very well

I downsized from the big corner desk to this and it is just perfect for the look I was going for and it gave me a file drawer to be able to get rid of my ugly metal one. This was a great piece to finish off the new look in our dining room.

Stay away from engineered wood products. It weighed 200 lbs and felt like concrete and the delivery was left on my garage door. It does look like the picture and somewhat pleased with the appearance, but the solid particle boards bothers me a bit. After starring at the instruction book several hours it took my wife and me about 12 hours to put together. The online videos are awful and there is not one whole video for the entire desk. Guess if there is an earthquake, it would be a good place to hide under. But we got what we paid for.

Perfect!
I'm 71, female, and had no problems with the weight and putting the desk together (took about 4 hours). The box was damaged but pieces were carefully packed so no damage to the parts. Step-by-step instructions were easy to follow, pieces are labeled with a number and alpha letter in parenthesis - thecalpha letter corresponds with the instructions and only tools required are phillips and flat head screwdrivers and a hamner. I found a video on YouTube showing how to do drawer slides because for me the diagram wasn't clear. It all went together beautifully and I love it.
This desk is horrible. To many pieces, has to hire someone to put together.

Great for the price!
Great desk for the price. It took 2 of us to put it together and it took about an hour. Definitely sturdy, but the edges are already starting to show wear.
