Almost perfect.

Love the product and bought because friends use it on their sailboat.. we want to do the same. This new manufacturer quality isn't quite the same. We wanted the LEDs to be less visible to the eye. They are distracting and glaring. The material could be more opaque for the ambiance. Maybe I picked the wrong one. Candle light affect option is what wanted.

Great Solar Lantern

We bought 8 of these inflatable lanterns for camping and they are excellent. Lots of different brightness settings which I really like. You can leave them out to charge during the day and they give you hours of light at night. Would definitely recommend.

Great light

I got these as back up lighting for my off-grid place. They emit a good light to cook or read by, and so far seem to charge well, though I haven’t had a chance to properly test this yet. The batteries are not replaceable which means this light will have a limited lifespan depending on how long the batteries last. Folds up small, light, quick to inflate. The on button could be a little bit taller to find it more easily in the dark, and I wish the flashing setting was on a different button instead or brightness. Plastic coating makes it waterproof and a nice warm light.

Surprisingly bright

Great little light so far. It is brighter than originally expected on the brightest setting while having a non intrusive brightness on the lowest setting of 3. Packs down quite flat and charges at a good speed with bright sunlight. Would purchase again.

Love my Luci Lux Light

I picked this up hoping it was going to be a good buy for lighting in my tent this summer for the National Scout Jamboree. I cannot believe how fast it charged using my sunny dining room and the plant grow light in that room. It has three different levels of light and it is all soft light. No bulbs glaring. Great buy - it will get a lot of use.

Luci Lux continues to delight

We bought two Luci Lux lights to augment a previous purchase made about 8 years ago. Those old lights continue to function perfectly even though they have lived a hard life outside in equatorial sun. The soft but bright glow of these lamps is great for evenings in the cockpit of our boat. They provide adequate light for reading but are "soft" rather than bright white. They collapse and expand easily, charge quickly and hold a charge for at least several hours on the brightest setting. I am very happy with the purchase - price and delivery time were excellent.

Lovely warm glow for a camping lantern.

Great Lantern, easy to inflate and deflate. Very compact. Little smaller than expected but gives off great light on the highest setting and I love that there are 3 levels of light. I was looking for a camping lantern that does not give out a harsh over bright cool light and this lantern is perfect as it has a warmer glow.

Love it, wished it lasted longer.

I love the natural gentle (better than the harsh lighting of the outdoor light), but practical functionality of this light! We use this on a daily basis, along with candles as our principle source of lighting in our mostly electricity-free and off-grid homestead. Only downside is it seems to fall apart after a bit of use, maybe a year or so, the blow up body of the lantern gets holes, or the top just degrades off from the body so you can no longer turn it on/off. I wish it had a longer life.

These are literally amazing. I bought 2 and left them for a few hours in my window. They got fully charged so fast and kept a charge for a long time. Took them camping and they were so bright but not blinding with the frosting. DEFINITELY recommend. #Sweepstakes

Our favorite way of lighting house and cabin

We use Luci lights every night - at our home we use them as night lights in the stairway to our bedroom, usually putting them atop a jar or translucent candle for the spreading of the light. At our cabin, which has no electric lighting, we use them the same way but also for standard night-time lighting for working in our kitchen and for reading. Luci lights are a great replacement for less environmentally-friendly options of battery-run lighting, gas lights, or kerosene lighting, none of which we use any more!

Hanging them high is key

Luci lights are a game-changer for nighttime campsite comfort, once I figured out that the key is to have them elevated off the tabletop or hung from a canopy, pointed down. No glare issues; just perfect, soft light.

Useful but a little harsh

I use these lights in my camper van. They are great for travel-compact and portable. I love that they are independent of my regular power system and are so easy to recharge. (No USB cords-hooray!) They also hold a charge really well. I do find the light a little harsh and glaring, though, even on the low setting. Lots of shadows and contrast, too. I've put a 1" wide strip of fabric around the bottoms. The fabric hides the bulbs without reducing the overall radiance, which fixes the harshness. It doesn't address the shadows or contrast, though. Chopping an apple for morning oatmeal is not easy by these lights. For general ambient light, they're fine. Don't expect them to be as bright as a household light-check the lumens to see how many you need.

I love this warm satin light version!

I have 2 of the original Luci's and have given several as gifts that were really appreciated. Now this softer, warmer light with the 3 brightness options make it versatile for so many uses, from lighting up a campsite and reading, down to softer illumination. And there is a flashing function for an emergency.

Long charge time; short light time

I was really excited about getting these solar lanterns but was very disappointed. It took three full days of constant sunlight (outside and facing the sun, as directed) to achieve a full charge. Then, the actual light lasted about half of the time it said it would on the setting I chose. I contacted customer service to ask if this was normal when first using the light, but never heard back. It is a great idea but I will not be buying more of these.

Beautiful and luminous

I never write reviews, but I am doing so today because I love these lights. During the pandemic, we have been hosting outdoor gatherings more and more. But even while gathered around the flames of the fire pit, we needed a better way to illuminate our conversations and our friends' dinner plates. Hung from the branches of the surrounding trees, the warm, diffuse light from these little lanterns transforms the space, with individual lanterns also serving as portable flashlights for guests trying to find their way back from the woods to the house. Magical, LED, solar powered lanterns.

Repurchase of lights; survived harsh conditions.

Purchased a new set of Luci Original and Luci Lux lights after about 3.5 years of hard use. Building off grid means we've been powering these lights up in all conditions; rain and shine. And have been using them continuously. After all the UV beating, the first set have succumbed to moisture and crackage which I don't fault them for AT ALL.

Cute!

Bought this more as an ornament than a utility product. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of light this product emits! Love that it is a warmer light rather than a white light. Certainly makes it easier on the eyes. Battery indicator and water-resistance are welcome features.

My favorite!

I LOVE the Luci Lux. My puppy destroyed my last one (they're nearly indestructible but not puppy teeth-proof, unfortunately), and I was distraught, so I had to buy another. I prefer this one to the Original because its light is warmer and easier on the eyes. I take it camping, read by it at night, etc. And I love how it's waterproof! I had a solar lantern from another company that got wet while I was charging it outside, and it went kaput. Luci is the only way to go.

No longer charging after one night of use

The light itself was fantastic... loved the design and the ambient light. We were so happy with it the first evening. However, the one we purchased must be faulty. After charging it the whole next day in the bright north QLD sun... it didn’t turn on that night. We tried again the next day and then it worked only for half an hour, before going off again. I went to the Snowy’s warranty page to try and fill a claim to get a replacement (we would love this light if it worked) but the page itself said it didn’t exist any more. Not sure what to do now. Here is a pic of the light hanging from our centre pole the first night of our trip, the only night we used it before it broke.

Best Camp Lantern!

Took this little guy on a 9-day camper van ski trip throughout Utah! This thing was awesome to toss on the dash during the day, for light the entire night hanging out and making dinner. There is a charging cord (USB) included incase you forget to set it out or it didn’t get enough light during the day. The little plastic strap on the top is great for attaching it to a hook on your van ceiling or tent. I cant wait to use this thing tent camping in the summer time! Super easy to use, nice ambient light on the lowest setting, easy to see/cook on the brightest setting. All the right features and a good value too!
