Cute piece, but made of cheap material.

I gave this piece 2 stars because the actual product I received was not at all like the picture. I would say it was sturdy and looked straightforward to assemble, but never got that far. I was really disappointed when I took it out of the box and saw that the wood was rough cut, and looked like it was made of pressure treated lumber like you'd use for a fence post. I had read the reviews prior to purchasing it, and had planned to paint it as others said they did, but it would have required too much sanding around the splintered and rough edges of the legs. I ended up returning it because it looked really cheap and not what I wanted in my entrance hallway.

I am so pleased at how perfectly this cabinet fits against the narrow wall in our foyer! I really like the height of it too, measuring about 33 inches tall. It was packaged well and very easy to assemble; only the legs need attached. The style of the cabinet is quite versatile; I'm actually planning to paint it. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the caning in the doors is crooked. I will be contacting Overstock to replace the doors, and I'm sure they will resolve the issue. I'll update my review when it's done.

Lovely chest

I bought this to embellish and paint to make it look like a French antique. It’s perfect for my project. Very well made with nice proportions. Chest was well packaged and had no damage.
