Never spill liquids
This 100% plastic. ( polypropylene) If we spill anything on it, it curls up in several places and stays even after drying. We had to steam the areas and place weights to flatten the curls. Just had a child spill water and it curled and will remain curled until we steam it. Total waste. Unless you like endless maintenance!
Cheap. Slippery
The rug is very slippery on both sides. The bottom can be understandable and you must put a nonslip mat at minimum underneath. However, it is also so cheaply made that it’s slippery on top, the rug material. My 40 lb dog tried to jump up on couch from rug and she slipped and fell. Also, THIN. There is no way pile height is 0.31” as advertised. Disappointed in the quality, but I guess that’s what you get for a $*** 8x10 rug
Nice rug, good value
Happy with this rug. Flat pile and fairly thin, but doesn't feel or look cheap. Good neutral pattern. Silver/Ivory is a mix of light silver gray, darker gray, and a lighter background that's supposed to be ivory. But the ivory part still has a very slight grayish tinge to it, not a true ivory. Arrived rolled up and packaged well. Packing wrinkles relaxed after several days. Very slight chemical odor first 3-4 days only. Holding up fine after a few weeks of being walked on daily.
Terrible EXP disappointed
I wish that this was a good review, I NEVER write bad reviews because I always feel like companies deserve the chance to make things right. In this instance sadly I was very disappointed with not just the product but also the company. I ordered a bunch of these rugs because the things I have ordered from here before where good quality. These rugs were not. They are very thin, not soft at all and extremely Slippery on the floor. I gave the benefit of the doubt, they can't always have the best of the best so I thought no harm, I will return them -- after 2 hours of waiting and "chatting" and speaking to more than one rep in efforts to make the returns, and it is not cost prohibitive to return. The rugs. I had purchased a membership that states free returns, however the fine print says three items a month - so for now I am stuck with *** in rugs unless I want to spend close to*** to return them. If they were quality it would not be an issue- however they are not. I am so very disappointed.
Gorgeous rug - great reviews on the orange!
After reading every single 1,2,3 (and some 4 star) reviews, I noticed that almost all of them were on the highly purchased “blue” version of this rug with a few beige and a few fuschia thrown in. Most said either the color was too bright/bold or the color was too muted!!! To choose my color I have several variously colored books - I put those one-at-a-time down in the floor to see what color ‘popped’. Believe it or not the orange color did it! Since absolutely NO bad reviews were on the orange one, what did I have to lose? I joined the O club and purchased the orange rug in 9x12 I haven’t even got it totally unrolled and installed yet AND YET I LOVE IT! I’m not sure I even need a pad, while not extremely thick or anything...it comes cat-approved for comfort! Which tells me a lot with my ‘comfort-kitty’. I absolutely love the orange in my contemporary style dining room with my traditional furniture and new muted Boho orange rug! Love this rug! Gorgeous! Also Orange is the latest 2020 designer color check out the hgtv home, bold orange everywhere in the bedroom!!!
Does not hold up in high/moderate traffic
UPDATE: While I still love this rug, it has not aged too well. We've owned this rug for over 18 months. Bought it for our baby's nursery (for those who don't care to read my previous review). It's still nice and plush in areas with low/no traffic, but very flat/matted/rough on the areas that do receive high traffic. This is a pretty low pile rug already. We do not wear shoes in our baby's room so this is a huge bummer. If I had it to do all over again I would definitely spend a little more and pick a different rug made of better materials. You get what you pay for I guess! Original review: I bought this rug for my baby's nursery. The cream/gray color scheme brightens the room up nicely. The rug is soft and feels nice to walk on (my dog LOVES to lay on this rug). We purchased a felt non-slip rug pad so i'm not sure if it would slip without one. It vacuums nicely. I did not notice any odors coming from the rug when I received it. Overall very happy with the price and quality of the rug.
I love the vintage look, softness and durability of these rugs. This is the third rug of this particular design. I couldn't find this size before and low and behold I go on during the best time of the year to buy and there it is looking at me. My feet did a happy dance. I recently became wheelchair bound and the skin on my feet has become extremely sensitive. So soft on my tootsies is very important.. Then there come the looks. I am very picky and my husband who could care less about decorating said he likes these rugs. I have a 5' x 9' in our entry way, a 3' x 10' in the hallway, and now a 3' x 5' in our master bedroom. They look great everywhere they are and mix well with many different décor styles These rugs where well. I've had no problems with the dirt and snow coming in the front door which is where my wheel chair ramp is. I turn around on the entryway rug all the time. I'm positive they could handle a family with 5 kids. That is not an exaggeration. I came from a large family so I know about wear and tear/ My one grandchild that lives close to us is like a tornado of food, garbage and dirt has spilled on this particular rug and the potential stain came right up. Not so on the living room carpeting. Oh well, you can't win them all. I highly recommend this this rug. I always look for Safavieh. I have had great luck with them. There prices are reasonable as well.. . .
This rug was EXACTLY what I wanted. True navy vs the teal/aqua that was pointed out on other reviews of rugs that looked like navy in the picture. Thank you to all who posted your reviews to help me make the decision to buy this rug. You were spot on! This 8x10 rug is in the master bedroom under our queen bed (also purchased at the same time from Overstock, which was another fantastic buy!) and is right up to the wall. I chose to buy the bigger rug due to the other customers wishing they would have bought a bigger size. I like the bigger size because it gives a good amount of rug on each side of the bed. There was no damage, rolled it out and set a couple of books on the edge to flatten it out. Viola! Gorgeous rug in place! It did have a little bit of a smell, but we have a ceiling fan in the room so it cleared up pretty quickly. I chose not to put a pad underneath based on the other reviews and this would also be my recommendation because it has a decent pile with no shedding at ALL. This is my first order from Overstock and am still amazed at the price for the quality of rug I received. Thanks Overstock!!!
