PERFECT ACCENT WALL

This was a custom order, designed to fit from base board to crown molding. The pieces fit perfectly, and we secured them to the wall with 18 ga brad nails. Note they do need a bit of hand sanding to smooth out the edges, and the painting was tedious but the final product was well worth the effort. Much more professional look than I could have done with a miter saw and some poplar.

This took some time to complete since I have a large wall but I’m so pleased with the results and I give it 10 stars! You definitely have to caulk before painting.

Easy install

Easy to install. Gives area a great look. Would have given 5 stars but I ran out and need about 4 more pieces. Ordered another set, 2 weeks later vendor cancelled order. Tried to submit order again and the price was doubled. Luckily I was able to order a few pieces from Lowe?s.

Shipment was next day air.

Beautiful, nicely packaged, all pieces were cut perfect. Thanks I finally have my wall.

An investment of time

I will start off by saying I have high expectations for the end result of any project. Going into this I knew that it would require many hours to perfect the look of the wall, but it more than doubled what I thought to be reasonable. Some people just slap them up on a wall and that is good enough for them, but if you want the same desired outcome, here are notable items to consider.1. Glue points. On each panel I had approximately 24 points to glue the panel on the wall.2. Panels are not exact. This is a problem with making each section square to those already on the wall. Many times, I had to use toothpicks to be temporary shims while adhesives dried.3. Warped panels. More panels were perfectly flat, but some were not and stuck out from the wall more than others. The solution was sanding down the plastic forms once up on the wall so that they were uniform.4. Form spacing. I?m guessing that most people just caulk gaps, but to look seamless I used a sandable plastic wood filler. This naturally required sanding down again.5. Caulking the area between the form and the wall. Within each form I caulked wherever the form met the wall. I hated the idea of gap, looks much nicer when painted.My estimate was 80 hours on this wall. There is a lot of measuring, cutting, gluing, sanding, filling, caulking, and painting. I would never do this again, but my wife sure loves it.
