Works great. Could use one improvement

Had to mount this on a siding mount. Works fine and outlets on back work. One thing that would make this even better is if the back of the fixture was designed to be able to close with 2 things plugged into the outlets. I would buy that over this design, as I could leave things plugged in if that area got wet.

The lamp looked good online, so we purchased it. It is replacing a porch lamp that was installed in 1963. I installed the new lamp, place a 60w bulb in it, turned on the switch. We had a large circle of light which was not harsh or painfull to look at.

Love them with yellow bug lights against my reddish bricks.

Does what I need it to.

Works well, looks nice. Installation was easy, would have been nice to know that a gasket wasn’t included. However, it was easy enough to put a bead of silicone around it.

Needs some detail improvements

Lamp is nice, but mounting screws were too small in diameter to fit a standard metal ceiling/wall box. Extra trip to hardware store required for larger screws! Also, the mounting plate, which attaches the lamp to the wall or ceiling box, does not completely cover the back of the fixture, leaving an unprotected gap top and bottom on the back of the fixture. If you attach this lamp to a surface-mounted box (not flush to siding) the result is an unprotected gap for insects, possibly mice, to access. (Another review left a photo showing this). Why not design the mounting plate to match the cover it inserts into?

Nice light fixture!

Easy to install, well mad e with no assembly required. Wire nuts and mounting screws are included in kit. GFCI outlets are a nice addition and the glass looks very nice,too! Overall, very impressive for a little less than $100.

This C Cattleya 1-Light Matte Black Aluminum Hardwired Outdoor Wall Lantern Sconce with Seeded Glass and Built-In GFCI Outlets is not only really nice looking but it was a snap to install (was already assembled in the box - took longer to take the old one down!), it has GFCI outlets on the bottom that are such a plus! This is a really nice heavy outdoor wall light that has seeded glass that looks fabulous at night when the light is on (tried to get a photo but it didn't do it justice). Now I have to get new house numbers because the old ones look crappy next to this nice lantern.

[Rewarded Review] porch light

C Cattleya 1-Light Matte Black Aluminum Hardwired Outdoor Wall Lantern Sconce with Seeded Glass and Built-In GFCI Outlets. Being manufactured from aluminum is great as in NO rust. Very stylish. I have never had an outside electrical outlet, so this is so handy with the built-in outlets, the GFI is an added bonus plus of course a safety factor. This works great for seasonal outdoor lighting. It comes with good directions and assorted installation attachments.

First off, this is a very handsome fixture and it approaches architectural quality in construction, fit, and finish. With 40 years of historic 1900-1925 arts & crafts era renovation/preservation experience, I think the aesthetic is very authentic to fixtures of that time - its proportions and seeded glass are spot-on. The GFCI feature is interesting - it's certainly convenient in my installation location (on a rear deck), it saves an installation of a dedicated GFCI outlet box, and is mostly invisible when not in use. It's a 15 amp outlet, which is all an existing lighting circuit can support anyway. I wonder if a sharply-pulled cord could damage the shade in front of the outlet, but mine is mounted high enough to avoid trouble. The only shortcoming is that the mount has to be weather-sealed against the wall siding with caulk - a cheap way to avoid designing a universal gasket or closing the rear of the mount to seal against the electrical box. No big deal, but if the fixture is removed, there will be caulk sealant residue to deal with on the siding.
