Upped my Morning Ritual!

I love this company. FELLOW. They do an elegant, functional and very taste oriented (wake that fair trade, organic coffee bean up) coffee product. All that being said, I am a good old fashion pour-over kind of girl. So i use a stove top FELLOW gooseneck tea kettle. I love it. I bought it a couple of months ago and I still wake up in the morning so jazzed to do my morning pour-over ritual of grinding coffee by hand, weighing it out, bringing the water to the perfect boil, and then beginning the ritual of the pour. Life doesn’t get any better than this moment. Well, sometimes it does but boy or boy does this moment start the day off, right. I even have a GRIND dance 💃🏻 for grinding the beans in the morning. This FELLOW stove top gooseneck has up my coffee game and my dance moves. It is functional, beautiful and elegant-love waking up to this setup!

Ideal kettle for the Flair58+

This attractive black kettle is perfect for filling the brew-head of my still new Flair 58+. It allows me to brew my fave early-morning beverage using my gas stove without having to depend on electric power. That's especially handy in the event of a power outage in an area which experiences these from time to time.

It is a Pour-Over Kettle

Works fine and looks nice. Thermometer is a nice feature. Weighted well. I have an electric coil stovetop and the bottom of the kettle will transfer paint onto the burner coils. I use a heat diffuser to avoid this. I definitely purchased this because it looks nice in my kitchen. Next time I need a kettle, I'll go for something cheaper.

Does not work with induction

The kettle does not work with some induction stoves. I tried it on my Siemens stove and it did not work. Others report that it does not work with Bosh or Samsung. It is a shame fellow has not fixed this issue yet considering that this type of kettle would work best with induction, since induction is much faster than both electric and gas. Otherwise the kettle looked great and felt great to use. If they ever fix this issue I would buy it ASAP.

A Pour-Over Kettle That Is Beautifully Crafted And Makes Sense

As advertised. Simply elegant and uber easy to use. Temperature gage on top, no whistling or scaring me to death with, "What's that awful noise?", and a smaller footprint on my stove top. A go-brainer.

Very good

This is a great stove-top pouring kettle with a handy thermometer on the top to let you know when you're in the 'good zone' temperature wise for pour-overs. When empty, it's light, when it has water in it, it's nicely balanced like its Stag electrical counterpart, which I also have. Note it's not induction compatible, though will work with an induction adaptor plate stuck under it. Recommended!

Good, but certainly not perfect

I love how this kettle looks, but I've had a number of design issues with it over the past 10 months I've been using it. The chipping on the bottom has been well-documented, and isn't really something that bothers me, but there are others aspect that do (namely, safety).

Fellow Stagg Kettle

Used this for the first time on a camping trip - worked a treat! Awesome for Aeropress coffee - really nice pour control and the thermometer is incredibly helpful. I got the optional timber walnut handle which looks amazing. Highly recommend.

Nice little kettle

Nice little stainless steel 1L pour over kettle with thermometer. Don’t fill it too much (like I did) or it will boil over. I bought it thinking I would use it on my gas stove, but quickly found my burners were really too large for it. The burners are 5 ½” diameter while the kettle is only 5 ¼” diameter at the base and you really don’t want the flame extending anywhere beyond the base of the kettle. Thankfully I have a portable induction burner that works perfectly for this, and frankly it heats the water to a boil much faster anyway. The pouring accuracy is great and it doesn’t dribble water anywhere you don’t want it to go. It’s a handsome little pour over kettle I expect to serve me for years to come!

This is such a great kettle. Love the built in thermometer. We use these for our pour overs for our Coffee Shop. Love it and helps us sell the kettles as well. These kettles are the perfect size for about 2 -10 to 12 oz drink. These are a great addition!

Sleek kettle with a great look!

It is certainly a kettle

It’s hard to really mess up a stovetop kettle, it works, I like the thermometer in the lid, overall it’s fine. I just don’t think the quality matches the price, the lid doesn’t quite sit right, the collar on the handle is just a little off, the plastic components feel kinda cheap. It works, I just think it could be better, more refined.

Great Little Kettle!

This kettle has really upped my pour-over game! The gooseneck gives great control and the thermometer allows me to keep temperatures right in range throughout. I compared temp readings with my Thermapen One and it is spot on. The great styling is the icing on this cake!

The worst

I'm a fan of Fellow but this kettle is just the worst. I have a pretty standard gas range. I'm on my 3rd replacement handle because they constantly melt if the flame is too high, or if it's close to another hot range. They don't hold much water, and even if you fill it to the recommended level, the water bubbles out of the spout and spills all over. The kettle doesn't make a sound, so unless you intend on standing over the kettle every time and watching the thermometer, you're going to be cleaning up water a lot. In all, the kettle looks and feels great. It's just terrible at heating up water.

Feels loose and the lid design is dangerous

Feels loose overall and it is brand new. The single hole near lid pushes out scalding air. Be careful. The lid at times is hard to remove. The entire lid situation is dangerous. Nothing to hide handle screw on wood editions, looks like it came out of Ikea. Shockingly disappointed. I still have my five year old 30 dollar Primula pour over from Target and never felt disappointed. I may return this nearly 300 dollar after taxes Staag EKG Pro Studio Edition Kettle.

Not happy

I bought this to replace an electric kettle from another brand after too much mineral buildup. I’m sorry I did. It has three major problems: (1) when filled up to (but not over) the (barely visible) fill line, water drips out of the spout as the kettle approaches the target temperature; (2) the thermometer stick tumbles out while pouring as the kettle approaches empty, creating a burn risk; and (3) the handle gets too hot. As a fourth but less significant flaw, the design of the spout isn’t ideal and water comes out too quickly at the start of the pour.

Beautiful kettle that melts

Beautiful stovetop kettle whose handle melted off within a few months of use. We were told this is not due to the design or materials of the kettle (which it clearly is), but instead due to it not being able to withstand the heat of our stovetop (which is its purpose). We're disappointed in the poor customer service that resulted in us buying a replacement handle which had a shipping cost that was over 60% of its price. Will not be purchasing again or recommending, which is a bummer because we really value our Fellow products, take good care of them, and have never had careless customer service until now.

Disappointed

I've been using a Hario electric kettle for years but decided to try this based on Fellow's reputation for quality products. It's a real miss. The problems:

Works well, doesn't last long

I have had a Stagg pour-over kettle for 8 months; I use it very regularly, about 2-3 times a day. It has served me well until recently - the thermometer has loosened from its housing and tends to slip out of the lid. Although the finish doesn't affect the performance or function of the kettle, it began chipping off within months of purchase. Having said all of this, it does pour beautifully and the thermometer still works and shows temp, but it isn't lasting, or holding together, as long as I would expect for the price of the unit.

Great Kettle - Priced High

I decided to get a decent pour over kettle for coffee as we are on an extended trip in our motorhome. We don’t always have full hookups, so a stovetop model seemed to be the best option. I was considering 3 different kettles: Barista Warrior, Hario V60 and the Stagg. I ended up in the Scottsdale, Az area and found a store that carried 2 of the 3 I was considering. After examining the 2, I opted for the Stagg. What I liked about it was: actual 1 liter capacity, overall shape / size, ergonomics and comfort level when handling, pour spout flow rate and control. What I did not like was the price. I think $85 USD is a bit steep, for what you get, but it works well. The price is the only thing keeping me from rating it 5 stars. My morning now starts with a fresh grind, pour, and great cup of coffee! I really do like the kettle.
