August Lock with Key Pad - avoid Canadian Tire

August lock works well but don’t buy from Canadian Tire. I purchased the lock and keypad combo. The lock got installed and the keypad didnot work. Canadian Tire didnot help and asked me to contact the manufacturer. Hence its best to buy it from a place that will provide the customer service

Don't get an August lock

The lock and keypad have never consistently worked properly to the point where I had to leave other doors to the house unlocked so that I could still get into my home. I have even come home and the front door was unlocked and wide open. Now that it's past 30 days of purchase, August won't refund me for the lock system nor replace it because they requested for me to film a video of the lock flashing red and not working, but these idiots can't view video clips, so they won't even replace the lock.

Watch out for duty fees!

The rating is not for the product, but for the lack of information regarding duty fees. I bought the product and agreed to pay the shipping fee of $35. Once Fedex knocked on my door, they asked for an extra $60 duty fees... so for a 350$ product, I am paying another $100 on top. I did not take the item and had Fedex send it back to sender.

Definetely not worth the money. August customer support is non-existent. You are better off with another brand like Wyze. A lot more bang for your buck and Wyze customer service is way more responsive.

Lock is great overall but keypad can be improved. Also, autounlock not always works.

August Wi-Fi Smart Lock + Keypad

It took several emails and almost 30 days to receive the product ordered. August was kind enough to offer me a wifi bridge for the continued product shipping delay issues, but I had to contact August again to get this promised item sent. The product works very well. I now have three of them.

Easy app setup, easy hardware install. Then box it back up and take it back. Try to use a key to manually open the door? Plan on having to hold the key in the unlocked position and open the door with your other hand. The lock turns with a key but then auto relocks itself if you letgo. It's a fun annoying game.After that, plan on fiddling with the lock to get the warning sound to stop...better yet, remove the lock batteries, reset, reinstall batteries, go thru the easy app setup. Then remove the lock from your door, reinstall your old deadbolt, get your receipt, go to the store and get your money back.

Installation was easy. Definitely like the features of the app, with door, locking and unlocking automatic. Also, appreciate being able to retain the original lock cylinder and key.

Terrible Customer Service

Realized I ordered the wrong color within 12 hours and when I called to request the order updated they said they couldn't but that I could return for exchange but then I found that I was expected to pay for the return shipping so it is my intent to return and purchase from another manufacturer.

Incompatibility not listed.

Unfortunately the lock was not pictured as incompatible to the current lock or I would not have purchased. Returned lock, paid for shipping and insurance now waiting on refund (week2 no $$) which will not cover total purchase. I have purchased lock set before and it worked.

Excellent Lock, Very reliable.

I previously puchased a different lock many years ago and I CONSTANTLY had problems with it. Customer service was horrible. So prior to purchasing an August Lock, I called customer service to verify they were responsive. OUTSTANDING!!! Installation was very easy. The lock is very reliable and easy to operate. I was soooo impressed, I purchased a second lock. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
