The other reviews are probably paid, this thing was a nightmare. Item came with a large crack in one of the pieces. Tried to request a replacement but they only do full returns, meaning we’d have to pack it all up, drive it to a drop off center, and reorder another one. Since the piece that came cracked sat in the back hubby said to just keep it, as we were building it we noticed some of the the holes not lining up, so we couldn’t screw those spots in, one of the edges of the door was also banged up and sat higher than the rest even after trying to adjust it. Don’t waste your money or your time!
LOVE THIS IMPRESSIVE !
WOW! This "Maven Lane Iris Sideboard" is impressive. The picture is a great representation of what it looks like. The color is not exact but close to the picture as well. It is HEAVY. At the time I bought this, the description online said 85 pounds, but the box read 145 pounds (*that's a substantial discrepancy). I'm still not sure how much it really weighs. Being a "Heavy" piece of furniture that is delivered to you (in a box, not assembled) can be a CHALLENGE for the delivery person that drops it off at your doorstep & a challenge for you trying to bring it into your home & then putting it together. I assembled it by myself, it took me 4-5 hours (I could have saved 1.5 hours if the directions were slightly more clear). The directions are "semi-clear." I got hung up on Step 1 because the "dowel holes" shown in the "picture" didn't match the actual piece so it took me about 30 mins to try & figure out what I was missing & what the picture was telling me to do. Also the hinges/doors were VERY HARD to 'attach' to the frame. In Step 8, the directions tell you to put the hinges on the door panel first, then Step 9 tells you to put the assembled hinges/door onto the frame. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to do this. So after 45 minutes of trying to do this, I gave up... and prayed. THEN the answer came to me. I 'reversed' the directions. I took off the hinges from the door panel (so that they were no longer attached to the door panel) and then took the hinges by themselves and "locked" them into place into the frame first. From there, I attached the door panel to the hinges (*Tip- having another person would be very helpful because they can hold the door up so the other person can screw in the hinge to the door panel). With all this being said, this is why I gave it 2.5 stars on "Ease of Assembly" and an overall rating of 4 stars. It would be helpful if there was a "video" of assembly instead of reading "Ikea-like directions." This is my second time ordering a substantial piece of furniture from Target.com. Both times now, I have had a good experience with being satisfied with the order...so because of these 2 'online shopping' experiences, I will buy more furniture from Target.com. ...and possibly 2 more of this same piece! I LOVE IT
