One piece was manufactured wrong but my husband made it work.

Disappointed

After ordering and enjoying the bed, nightstand, and desk, I ordered this bookcase to surprise my son and complete his room. Unfortunately there is a manufacturing defect and we can't complete assembling after making a mess in his room. Ugh I ordered a replacement piece and am hoping I get it within 24 hours to get his room back together for the holidays.

Shipping took longer than we

Shipping took longer than we expected, but it’s very good quality and beautiful furniture that was worth the wait! It has easy to read and use instructions included.

Overall, this is a nice solid piece of furniture that looks great with the other Max and Lily Farmhouse collection items. I really like the color of the wood and found that assembly was easy to follow. The wood appears to be good quality; however, my one complaint is that our wood came with what appears to be an ink stain when we pulled it from the box. On a white piece of furniture this is noticeable; however, we didn't want to stop mid-assembly to request a replacement part and go through what would likely be four phone calls just to have our request heard. Had there not been a stain, I would have given this 5 stars.

Just what we ordered

We got this bookcase as an addition to the bunkbed set we ordered for our grandkid’s room. It went together fairly easily, although we had to hammer the pieces in place more than we expected.

The bookcase looks decent once

The bookcase looks decent once assembled (love the color and quality is ok too), but the interlocking mechanisms for assembling the parts are not as functional as one would think. It made it hard (and frustrating) to assemble - and I've assembled my fair share of furniture over the years.

Poor Craftsmanship / Finish

Poor construction methods. Their green tab system split the wood on the bottom left (this happened on two other furniture pieces in the set as well). Customer service said they would send a replacement piece, but that meant I would have to wait 2 more months to receive it and hope (yes hope) that it didn't happen again. Also, the stain is very rough and feels unfinished. I would recommend spending just a little more for Crate and Barrel / West Elm or go a little cheaper with IKEA. Hard pass on Max & Lily products.

Not the best wood behind

Not the best wood behind the shelving unit. The edges butting up to the side panels are rough and brown in color. Book case is white. There are spaces in the joints everywhere.
