Good closet light

I was really tired of using the pull-string lights in 2 closets and this seemed like a good option. The fixtures were easy to install although you should be careful when you mount them to the box because the whole fixture is plastic. You'll also need to strip the supply wires a little more so be sure to have good wire stripper

Light will not turn off

We have had this sensor for coming up on 2 years and it will not turn off. Have tried wiping the sensor and turning off the breaker but no joy. Called Maxxima but they did not suggest anything - simply told me to find the receipt.

Love this light! I have this in the entry way from my garage/laundry area. It turns on automatically when entering and stays on as long as there is motion detected. Super easy to install!

Inexpensive, low power, light weight, flat. Easy to install, although you will need a junction box with 120v power in it. If that's not already there, you'll have to install one and run power to it. That part will take about 90% of the effort.

I loved this product at first. It worked great until the motion sensor just failed a week after installation. I liked it well enough that I’m going to try another. It was installed by a licensed master electrician

It’s exactly what I needed for my back door area! My electrician found it easy to install. My back door area is enclosed and didn’t have any great lighting. I am much safer entering and exiting my back door now!

This is the perfect ceiling fixture in 2 walk in closets. When I saw the size, I was concerned that it would be ok but perhaps need a secondary light. SURPRISE!! It was actually brighter than the fixture I had before. I am very pleased. Walk in, the light comes on. Perfect.

Turns on Randomly

My contractor installed this in 4 closets that used to have gross pull string lights. It looks nice and flush against the ceiling or wall, but all 4 of these lights turn on randomly, sometimes during the day, sometimes in the middle of the night when the closet doors are completely closed. I'm getting them removed because it is super annoying to see the light coming throught the cracks of the bedroom closet doors when I'm trying to sleep. Good concept, but doesn't work correctly.

Perfect for closets!

Customers seem to love these lights. The motion sensors work well, and the fixtures put out a good amount of light for both small walk in closets and standard closets with bifold doors. We've installed about 20-30 of these and have had zero complaints or warranty calls on them. Highly recommend!

Perfect solution for a closet light retrofit. The motion detector was great. I didn’t have to install a switch in the doorframe.

Frustrated

Bought first unit in September thru Home Depot. Installed and unit did not turn completely off after photo cell was suppose to turn it off. There was a faint glow showing. Returned and 2nd unit did the same thing. Called the company and was told there is a defect in the unit and they have corrected unit coming in a few weeks and will ship out when available. Received 3rd unit and works great.

First unit I bought was easy to install. However, when unit was suppose to turn off it did not turn completely off. There was a faint glow showing. I returned the first unit to HD. 2nd unit I bought did the same thing. Subsequently I called the manufacture and was informed there was an engineering error in the design of the unit which did not allow it to completely turn off. After a few weeks they sent me a third unit as a warranty replacement with an updated electrical design. Third unit works great.

Great closet light

Easy install. About 10 minute install to replace a single light fixture with pullcord. Utility closet space is 3'x3' with 8' ceiling. Illuminates the space very well ~60 watt equivalent. Turns on when you open the door and shuts off after 30 seconds of no movement.

Product would not turn off. I contacted the manufacturer, whom stated that sometimes they have issues. They were going to send a replacement to me at no charge. I have not seen the replacement. Ended up purchasing a different product. Will be returning this defective product.

Bought two of these lights

Bought two of these lights for garage ceiling. Both worked for two days. The one closest to the door leading into the house stop activating after that. You can see that there is power still going to that fixture because of the slight glow when the fixture is not activated. Anticipating that the good fixture will stop working soon..

Nice product with one exception

I purchased two lights to replace standard bulb garage ceiling lights. Both worked real well the first couple of days. Then the one closest to the door leading into the house would not activate. The other one did though.

I wanted to replace old pull chain closet light that was always being left on. Works perfectly. Not too bright. If I was to nitpick , it would be that the motion sensor is a bit too sensitive. If the door isn't shut completely , the light comes on when just walking past.

New Old House

We"re using these in small closets and they"re fantastic. We bought on old house with naked bulbs and pull chains (yes pull chains) in the closets. EASY to install, energy efficient, looks great, plenty bright, and it"s kinda cool to open the door and the light comes on. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is we"ve only had them for a couple of weeks. I"m curious to see how long they"ll last. 50K hours of "on" time sounds unbelievable, but they were inexpensive and easily worth the gamble.

The operation was a success....

Motion sensor works fine though it would have been nice if you could set the amount of time it would stay on after motion is no longer detected. Also the light stays on at a very low intensity (almost like a nightlight) when there is no motion. This must be because of the residual power being drawn to power the sensor. There ought to be a way to control that. How much energy will three of these units consume in a year (I bought three).

Sum it up in a few words

So I finally got around to installing this at church to replace an old pull-chain bare-bulb light fixture that looked butt ugly. It only took a few minutes to install and immediately worked just fine when I turned the breaker back on. It seems to function pretty well - it picks up any movement in the immediate area. If I had my druthers I would want something that stayed on a bit longer and was a bit brighter, but given the physical restrictions I was faced with, it will work just fine. I plan to buy a couple of more of these to put in other locations at church but will look for a larger, brighter model. All in all, recommended.
