Not as nice as described
The work orthopedic in the description made me think it would be extra comfortable for my dog. These are not made the same way they were a few years ago. The bed is egg crate foam, and frankly seems so cheap. My dog is 100 lb’s. He might as well be laying on the floor. I’m so disappointed, he is old and I want him to be comfortable and I can tell he’s not. Now I have to buy a new one. It’s my fault, I should have read better that it’s egg crate. The last one I ordered of this brand is amazing and so comfortable! I’m sad.
Zipper broke forest wash
I have a hound who has the greasy hound smell so my beds get washed often. Unfortunately this bed cost a fortune and yet I washed it once and the zipper broke. I was able to get it back up and ok but bow second wash and it's completely broken. Super disappointed!! O and forgot to mention the inside dinning also tore after the first wash.
Get what you pay for
I've purchased numerous beds that just eventually break down and turn into mats. Though I will say I was hoping the two of this brand I bought would be a tiny bit thicker, they do appear to be worth the buy. My 9 yr old German Shepherd immediately laid down and went to sleep on it. True to size. The higher price of this dog bed compared to others of the same size is clearly due to the tempurpedic pad inside. $70-100 on a dog bed may not be cheap, but most people spend a minimum of $1500 on their human bed.
Super Awesome 1 year later
I bought this bed 1 year ago. This is the 4th one my dog has had since being a puppy. She never tore the beds up. They just eventually got smelly a stunk all the time. Even with washing the covers. Last one she actually was sick and had diarrhea. I basically tossed it rather than deal with the mess. This bed is the Jumbo. It was more money but well worth it for my German Shepard. The cover removes easily. The pieces inside are protected with some kind of fabric unlike the exposed foam in all the others we had. The exposed form soaked up the smell and kept it. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed. I am very picky. Love it and so does she. It sits high and it stiff enough for support but comfortable. As she grows hold that support will be
Good bed for dogs 23lbs and below
The foam consists of two layers, the bigger layer being regular foam and the thinner second layer being some kind of bootleg memory (or is it memory foam but not as effective due to how thin it is...maybe 1-1.5 inches thick?) It's pretty comfortable, more comfortable than some pillows I've had in the past. But I can't imagine it being able to fully support any big dog above 35lbs. I ordered a medium bed and it didn't come with an egg-crate foam piece.
Wish I had known...
I read that this was an orthopedic dog bed and thought it would meet our dog's needs. Unfortunately, the basic option (without memory foam) is soft and comfy enough for a healthy or young dog, but does NOT provide enough support for the joints of an older dog or one with joint issues. If you push in on the mattress, it doesn't take much pressure to reach the hard floor underneath. We have a dog bed with memory foam that was not marketed as orthopedic, and you cannot feel the floor under that one with even the strongest pressure. I would have loved to know this beforehand, as we are now in the market for an actually supportive orthopedic dog bed for our little guy. Something to keep in mind if you are in a similar situation.
Si upset with ZIPPER
I was so excited and amazed at how comfortable this bed must have been because my dog I expressly bought it for would barely get up off of it. I ordered the bed on Black Friday, and we've had it for just eight days. He has cancer and needs something supportive so he can get adequate rest and just be comfy and happy.
2 year review
I have three of these in the large size that have been in use for the past 2 years. They are still holding up, the only issue I’ve had is that the stitching on the bolster part starts to come apart after a while on every single one, in the same exact places. I assume it’s from washing them monthly. This doesn’t ruin the bed though because all the filling in the bolster is inside of a removable cushion. I recommend putting the bottom foam insert into a lawn & leaf bag as an extra cover to prevent anything from seeping in because the foam padding is a nightmare to clean and traps odors. It fits perfectly and I just replace the bags as needed if someone makes a mess on their bed.
slept all night
I have to give this bed 5 stars. My 100 plus pound German Shepherd sleeps on the sofa mostly. All night long shes from the sofa to the floor to the window seat back to the sofa changing positions and just very restless. I ordered this bed because she hurt her leg and I didn’t want her jumping on and off the sofa and window seat all night. Wasn’t so sure it would work as we have had other beds. Last night, first night she laid down around 9:00 and it is now 5:50 and she slept on that bed ALL NIGHT just changed positions. I am a happy camper. We bought the Jumbo because of her weight.
my animals love it, not sure if I do though
This bed is quick and easy for me to vacuum and had kept its shape well. My cats and dogs both love laying on it.
One of the best I've found yet
This is a great bed for a large dog like a golden retriever. Oh my gosh the thing is enormous. Glory is a 75 lb golden but a little bit on the stout side so she's not very tall like my first golden so she doesn't take up as much space as my beloved did but she can sprawl out on this thing. Wow. And it blends perfectly with my rug. I got it on a Christmas sale for 47 bucks which for some people is a lot of money but this thing has a zipper so you can clean it and use it over and over and over so it's worth the 47 bucks to me. Glory kept going back to the bed all day. Like anything, she's apprehensive about something she has never seen before but once she realized it was her bed and it was for her she kept going back to it. At one point I was looking around the house trying to figure out where she was because I had left my home office into the kitchen and assumed she was in the living room. I called her several times. She did not come. I finally went into the dark office and there she was on the bed all sprawled out sound asleep. This is a keeper. Thinking of buying a second one.
Bummed about Quality
I purchased this on sale, super excited. I looked at reviews and everyone raved and so I thought this is the one. It’s intended to be a communal bed for my kitties to snuggle the rescue dog friend they have made. As well as a spot for said doggie to chew on toys and chill when she visits. The quality is really lacking which is shocking for how expensive this item is normally. The material though super soft is very thin and the sides are wonky. I was expecting something more durable in quality that would hold up for a long. While nothing has happened to the bed (yet) I’m certain it won’t last. The bed I ordered off of bark box is much better in quality (although smaller for just my cats) and if the doggie wasn’t just a weekly house guest I would have ordered another one. If you have a destructive dog/rough, big dog or chewer prone I do not recommend this bed. Chewy has better options.
