Not happy

I was surprised that the drawers were supposed to slide on plastic instead of steal. The plastic didn't fit right and the drawers are difficult to pull out. The workmanship was shoddy. The wood was not sanded. Im very disappointed. I was going to order another.piece a little larger but now probably not.

in the end I’m happy I purchased it. i didn’t use the wheels, i placed it on a low table. i was surprised how difficult it was to put together. i ended up buying corner brackets to hold the pieces to put together. without extra tools/jigs it was a nightmare. but i have it finished and it feels solid. i like the wood over particleboard. finished it is a five star, putting it together is a generous four star. i’ve had it in use for several weeks and it has served me well.

It would have been helpful to have the drawer parts predrilled. I made pilot holes and it kept the wood from spliting. Finish is a little cheesy, so I may sand and stain. Used my brad nailer for the drawers and the backs.

Have bought this before and know how beautiful the construction and finish is. Great in my craft room! This is a flat pack and needs to be completely put together so plan on a few hours to do it. I'm a 68 yr. woman and I didn't have any problem. It just takes time. It helped that the instructions were excellent and very clear.

Love it!! Ideal for just about any room. It takes restraint not to buy one for the bathroom, kitchen, craft room, tools.... Easy to put together, attractive, nice that it has wheels. one or two drawers stick a little but I believe loosen with time. Also told to use light candle waxing (rub, pls not light and drip) to help ease sliding. Would definitely buy again!!

Big surprise!!

The solid wood Construction really was a surprise, I was so used to getting particle board and MDF projects that needed to be painted or finished. I need any more cabinets I'll be down to get the Adept us. Went together extremely well great instructions and a very nice little catalog came with it.

Difficult to put together with end results just OK

The cart arrived in a timely manner with all pieces accounted for. The rolling cart of drawers is a lilttle tedious to put together. The drawers do not open and close smoothly, although that may be the fault of the builder but the builder followed the directions. It took about 3 hours to put together. One drawer still gets stuck. The size is perfect for my needs, however, I would have gotten a metal drawer system had I known how these drawers were put together.

Nice materials, difficult to assemble

FIrst, the good - as everyone noted, every piece is solid pine except the hardboard bottoms, so a big plus for materials; the finished surfaces are decent quality, but not like an expensive piece of furniture. Should be a durable piece of set of drawers - that is, depending on your carpentry and engineering skill. The pieces fit together mostley OK, but there's nothing to index them to each other. If you have no idea how to build furniture or use woodworking tools, don't expect this to be strong, durable, square, or have the drawers fit properly. In my case I'm using my expensive Bessey brand German corner clamps to square up each piece, and gluing every joint so it will be stronger and durable. The clearance holes are way oversized, so don't expect to be able to drill a pilot hole for any of the screws - that would be unnecessary anyway because the wood is so soft the screws are easily driven and the wood will not split. I'm able to assemble one drawer per day, letting the glue cure before removing the clamps and moving on to the next one. Overkill? Maybe, but my drawers will outlast yours if you use a less intense process. Not for the faint of heart.

I SO appreciated that this piece was solid wood. The assembly took quite a while as each drawer had to be assembled individually, and it became a two-man job as it was difficult to hold and screw simultaneously. Also, while the instructions state you don't have to pre-drill, I did using a bit about two sizes smaller than the screws. That made a world of difference. Also, again the instructions said it was unnecessary, I would recommend using a bit of wood glue on the dowels and the tips of the screws, once you know what you're doing.

Must be completely assembled

I must not have paid attention when I ordered this. But - the instructions are clear, few tools needed (small hammer, philips head screwdriver and a rubber mallet). I got a drilling gimlet from my tool box and that sped the process for assembling the drawers. A small drill would help, but is not necessary. I was so impressed, I just ordered another one! I plan to use them in my home office to control clutter.

looks great

I had my husband put this together. since i am slightly disabled it was more than i could do. but trust me, its not too hard to do on your own. its so much nicer than a plastic bin. the drawers slide in and out easily. and you can take them out fully to move around or rearrange. its real wood too so its not so heavy.

I'd give this 5 starss for the nice appearance anc quality, but the assembly could use some help. They refer to something called 'pips' in the instructions, but they were not defined - or included in the package. Also, there should have been guide holes drilled for drawers - sides had holes but front and back of drawers didn't. I had to drill them myself, which was difficult - could have used another set of hands to hold the pieces together while I drilled.

No breaks!

No breaks! It looks great in the drawers are nice and hold a decent amount but every time I open a drawer the wheels… Since they don't have brakes… Roll along with opening of the drawer and I can't keep it in one place. They should at least have two wheels with brakes on it that you can lock. otherwise I would've given it five stars. It is quite frustrating that you cannot stabilize it in one place. if you put heavy things in a drawer it will even roll more but usually with what I keep in it we're talking about a few inches. But that irks me

Go slow & have patience - you'll be done sooner.

To set it up...I'm a 75yro woman doing this by myself. I've assembled plenty of pieces of furniture in the last 50 years starting with a crib - experience is on my side. I set my workstation up on the floor and did a thorough inventory. All hardware was counted and put on a tray. You get extras of some small pieces. A little OCD...but it works for me. Only two of the wood pieces had English words, 'left' or 'right.' The rest had no letters or numbers to coordinate them with the written/pictured instructions. Read them first to get the process down and when screwing pieces together be sure they are perfectly squared up and tight, especially when assembling the drawers. One smidge off or one slight space and the drawers won't slide on the plastic glides. I had to 'touch up' the first two I did then everything was fine. Do not use glue - that went against my intuition but glad I didn't. Glue is not always your friend and it wouldn't be here. You may have to back your way out of something! They send extra connector plugs so if one is loose, try another for a snug fit. There are plenty. Small nails...they say to use all the nails to attach the back to the frame. Don't! Read ahead - you'll need three for each drawer and if you follow their directions, you won't have them. The back doesn't need as many as they show being used - overkill. The finished product rolls easily and the drawers slide in and out just fine. One thing they don't provide though are stops for them. It could be easy to pull them all the way out. I remember solving this issue on a piece years ago in the kids' rooms. If I pull one out here, I'll only do it once. It was intimidating for me at first but the frame came together great and when I slid the first drawer in easily, I was happy.

Nice little organizer.

Just right size and color for my office. Fits under the desk table and drawers are good depth for office supplies and organizing bills. This is for personal organization not business. Legal file folders do not fit and we do not use letter size so check for yourself. Had to be put together and did so without problems. Did not need the rollers but all the,hardware and wheels were there.

IT COMES AS A KIT

The item was not clearly described as a "kit" that needed assembly. I assembled this item with wood glue. It is pine and is counterbored to accommodate the pan head screws. With the drawer sides you end up with about 1/4 inch of soft pine to pull the pieces together. I had the torque setting on my screw gun at 3 lbs. and was still crushing the wood at times. The edge margins for the fasteners is pretty thin at most points. The glue will hold it together. Top scratched when received.

I'm very happy with this unit now that it is assembled. Assembly was a little tricky and certainly not as easy as something from Ikea. It was difficult to keep all the pieces aligned when attaching the fasteners. BUT, it is solid wood and looks great. Given that it is pine don't expect perfection in the grain.

Nice piece of furniture

This is a nice piece of furniture. The drawers are a little stiff going in and out. It took me about 45 minutes for complete assembly. The directions are good and clear. It is much better than an IKEA set of instructions. I only made one mistake during the process. But it was easy to go back and fix.

The cart is what we expected. Made of wood. One slight scratch that we were able to cover with a brown sharpie. This wasn't easy to assemble. It took a family member, a carpenter, one hour. I could not have built this myself. However, it suits our needs. Appears solid.
