Reviews

Wish it is more sturdy, not bad but it does wobble a little.

Larger than I thought

This table is really big, I actually could not use it in my kids' room. My fault for misunderstanding the dimensions but even half the size would be a large playtable. It took a LONG time to assemble but is good quality as all Melissa %26 Dough products are. Now having to re-sell as it is not usable in my space.

Cheap screws that snap, table top doesn’t fit

The provided screws felt like plastic and three of them snapped while using the provided wrench. We weren’t using a lot of pressure or anything. There’s also some damage on the back that was obviously just painted over before we received the table.

Disappointed with customer service.

You never shipped it to me because you didn’t have stock. Twice you confirmed my purchase then told me my order was cancelled due to a problem with my bank. After several calls to M & D it was found that you were out of stock!

Pieces will be missing

Table would be fine, if it came with all the right parts. Unfortunately, I only got one of the cross supports that hold up the table top up. I contacted support and proved purchase and they still never sent the right part that is missing. If you zoom in on the picture you will see two very different parts with the same J sticker. Only one is the correct support for the table.

Cheap

Quality is very cheap some pieces came chopped off and other pieces would start to crack as you screw them together. Would never buy this product again.

Design Error

This part clearly had a design error that they fixed by sending additional parts instead of actually correcting the error and fixing the problem. The top pieces are too small for the frame, leaving a gap that small parts like legos will into! They added some short pieces of hose, split, to slide over the tops but the gap is still there. A clear example of a company that is focused on costs instead of customer satisfaction. I fixed the problem by cutting a thin piece of wood to fill the gap but most people won't have the wood shop that can make this repair.

Large and Inexpensive

the actual size when assembled was ideal! the only down side was the materials provided, past items I have purchased from this brand were better quality. My son loves it none the less!

Not worth it--cheap materials

Really disappointed in this table. It’s not made of a strong enough material for kids who don’t understand not to push and pull on a table. Two months in and the screw holes are stripped.

Ignored The Bad Reviews Too, And Now I Regret It!

So Disappointed! The Boards Dont Evenly Fit, Theres Gaps That Shouldn't Be There. My 35 Lb Toddler Rested Her Arm On The Top Of The Table Reaching For A Train And It Already Fell Apart. I Got It For Her For Christmas And Barely Made It To The 2nd Day Of New Year.

Grandkids (and parents) love this table

Purchased this table (and the train set) last year (2020) for my grand children for Christmas. They love the table and the train set. Assembly was easy, although I had to make a few modifications to remove the gap between the table top and the outside edge (finger pinching hazard); I added a strip of 1/4" plywood to both sides to fill the gap. Mom & dad love it as well, makes for a great activity table.

Large gaps between boards and sides of table

I bought this table through Target and we finally put it together the other day. We were excited about it as it seemed like a really sturdy table and looks great but were incredibly disappointed to find that the green boards do not sit flush with the sides of the table as suggested in the pictures, nor are they even close. There's about a half inch gap where small parts of toys can fall into and get stuck. We're also worried about little fingers getting jammed in there. Basically, the table is unusable. I wrote to Melissa & Doug and they said that this is to be expected and normal. Seriously? Who designs a table like this? I don't know if I got a dud or if this is the real design, but I thought buyers should be properly informed.
