The jury is still out

I had a Capresso coffee maker I loved for many years. Needed a new one but they didn’t make my model anymore. Switched to Melitta as they made a small 10 cup model with glass carafe. I followed all the instructions setting up which went smoothly. But my Peets dark roast coffee tasted very bitter. I experimented with the settings to no avail. So I switched to a medium roast coffee and the bitterness went away. I’m a little disappointed I can’t drink my long time favorite French roast decaf anymore. So the jury is still out about the coffee maker.

thermal lining in the pot comes loose

After about a year of light use, the thermal lining inside the pot is coming loose. I may as well throw it out after having consumed some of that lining without knowing. The warranty has expired, nobody cares - nor Melitta or their vendor. I loved this product, so easy to use and convenient, but all that is irrelevant if it already useless after a year. And it's not a cheap product! I may have to go back to a simple glass pot with stewed coffee. Very disappointing!

Melitta 8 Cup Coffee Maker

This is nice smaller drip coffee maker that brews a really good pot of coffee. It works well for the two of us and doesn't take up a lot of counter space. The one downside is you need to take the lid off to get the last of the coffee out due to the shape of the carafe. Not a big deal to me, but some may be annoyed by this. I've only had it for a short time so we'll see how it holds up after more use.

Better than Cuisinart

After years of using a Cuisinart coffee maker w/grinder, we decided to buy a separate coffee grinder and find a better coffee maker. The Melitta's brew temperature is hotter, and we like the coffee better. Also, the carafe is much better and doesn't drip. We only wish Melitta would sell their European model here which has the glass lining in their thermal carafe.

Almost a four star. 3.5 stars rounded out to 4 stars.

Good. Coffee taste does not have strength to it right as it finishes. If it is on the warmer a half hour it strenghthens the flavor. Need to warm up in microwave. Even in strengthen flavor setting it is a little bland. Quality of maker and glass container excellent. No comparison with the old four cup melitta of years gone by. I can make a better cup of coffee in my little $30 Cook's essential 14 oz. four or five cup coffee maker. I may go back to my little Cook's Essential.

Almost Perfect

So many quality features are included in this product. It brews great coffee, keeps it hot all day without burning thanks to the thermal carafe. The only complaint I could make is that it is extremely difficult to get the last few ounces out of the carafe. The trade off is that the rest of the pot is ridiculously delicious for the product’s price point. Would recommend for anyone looking to replace their current drip model.

Small, Quiet, Effecient. Good Coffee.

Small: As of today, HD dimensions are wrong. 13” tall, 8-1/4” front to back (not incl. carafe handle), and 6-3/4 wide. See pics.Quiet: Does not beep!Efficient: No hotplate to keep the coffee warm. The insulated carafe is very effective, keeping the coffee hot for an hour, and very warm for several.Need an alternate pitcher for filling the reservoir. Insulated carafes don’t work for this, in general. It’s a bit awkward to fill.Coffee is good, no complaints on the taste.

Melitta Name is what Sold me on this Item. After reading many Reviews a few months ago, Ibought an Old Fashion Perculator. i didn't like it. So I saw this Melitta in a Macy's Ad. Being a newerItem, there weren't any real Ratings by folks who bought it. I figured Melitta would not put their Name on a Lousy Coffee Maker. Sure you can find Faults, but it makes Good Coffee, and I wanted a Carafe.

Makes a great cup of coffee!

My family and I have been loving this Melitta Aroma Tocco coffee maker! It is programmable so everyone can have coffee whenever they want just set it and it will make it. The carafe keeps the coffee nice and hot. You can even go back and have coffee over an hour later and it will still be warm. It makes up to 8 cups which is perfect for sharing and when you have guests. Or if you’re like me and just have a big family who all love coffee. This looks stunning on your counter and is totally display worthy. This would also make a great gift for someone. If you know a coffee lover they would definitely appreciate all the features in this particular coffee maker. The stainless design makes such a statement. Plus it just makes a great cup of coffee.

Great HOT coffee!!!

This coffee machine was build with quality in mind. The stainless steel design fits into any kitchen. It was easy to start up and use. The programmable function comes in handy for those early risers, like myself, who want their coffee ready first thing in the morning. Even if it takes me a little longer to get that first cup, I know it’ll be hot because the insulated carafe keeps it hot for me. The touch screen is easy to understand and you can easily adjust the amount of coffee, strength, and time of brewing. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a coffee machine!

An ok coffee pot

It’s an ok coffee pot. There’s not much special about it to me. I wish the carafe stayed hotter. It is also difficult to pour the water from the carafe into the coffee maker itself. There is a lip around the edge of the carafe that makes it difficult to get all of the water out. Also the water measurement, is more than the carafe holds, which I feel is incorrect. It I. My opinion, is not worth the price. I do like the ease of the touchpad though.

No more burnt coffee!

Let me just say, I'm a cold weather coffee drinker and don't obsess over it, but when I want it, I want it smooth and not burned. Our old coffeemaker at work had gotten to where as soon as you turned it in, you were overwhelmed with the horrible burnt coffee smell. I replaced it with this Melitta 8 cup maker and all is well within the world of coffee again. I can leave it on all day and the coffee is always gone before it starts to get past the point of drinkable. Everyone is happy and now that we've figured out all the bells and whistles, I know I made the correct call. The features are perfect, simple to use but not overwhelming or complicated. The only time we haven't walked into an office smelling delectable now is when we had a power failure. This coffeemaker is no miss and perfect for a small office or a home with all day coffee drinkers. Worth every penny! Less

Must have for coffee enthusiasts!

Great coffee maker. Looks really wonderful and very easy to set up and operate. Also very compact and doesn't take too much counter space. The thermal carafe is also excellent and keeps the coffee hot for many hours. The clock and timer are pretty straightforward to setup and use. Overall it's really great machine and I definitely recommend it.

Great coffee maker

I really like this programmable drip coffee maker! It was very easy to set up and it’s easy to use. It has a small footprint and doesn’t take up a lot of space on my counter and looks great also. You can customize your settings to the optimal temperature and preferred brew strength which is very handy. It also has a handy auto-shut off. I really like the thermal carafe as it’s very durable and keeps my coffee hot. Overall, I feel that this coffee maker is well made and performs well. I highly recommend it!

Nice, but...

I love so much about this coffee maker. It's easy to use and I love being able to adjust the strength. It's sleek and attractive, the glass touch panel is very responsive, and the stainless steel matches my other appliances and is easy to clean. The only downside I can see is that it's hard to be precise if using the carafe for water. It spills and is hard to pour into the reservoir and there is no way to measure the amount of water in the pot. The other downside is it's not dishwasher safe, which is super important to me for convenience. Not deal breakers, but enough for me to reduce it by one star.

Delicious coffee

This coffee maker is just what I needed! It is perfectly sleek on my counter and is super easy to clean. It brews a great cup of warm coffee fairly quickly as well and there are buttons you can use to customize how you want your coffee. It is very straightforward to use and I did not need to reference the directions prior to setting it up! The only thing I wish this coffee maker had was a screen included with the clock that shows how I am customizing the coffee. Overall, great product and I recommend.

Yummy coffee

Great coffee maker for avid coffee lovers. This machine has lots of neat features which alone makes it worth getting. The thermal is what got me! Love that it stays warms for a few hours after being off - unlike traditional coffee machines. Being able to set the strength of your brew is a huge plus too. Highly recommend!

Great tasting coffee

We had the same coffee bar system for five years, and while we loved it, it was starting to get tired. We wanted something that would work well and was simple, but made great tasting coffee. In walks Melitta Tocco. It's a great coffee maker and the flavors we get out of it are great. It's easy to use which I appreciate, has a small enough counter footprint to go anywhere, and just does what we need without any gimmicks. The one draw back I've found is that the coffee pot isn't glass, so you can't tell when it's sitting there if there is any coffee left inside or not.

Coffee stays hot all day!

I got this coffee pot to replace a single serve coffee pot. I like that it has a timer, but it should be noted that you cannot make the strong coffee with the timer. The strong coffee is excellent. The pot keeps the coffee hot all day! One of the things I don't like is that the clock is in military time, and there is no other option. Also, it is really hard to get the last of the water/coffee out of the pot without turning it completely upside down because of how the top of the coffee pot is shaped.

Great coffee maker!

I like the sleek look of this coffee maker and it goes perfect in my kitchen. I like the size. The coffee maker does not take up a lot of counter space. Melitta® recommends using the Melitta® coffee filters, which I did. The coffee maker is easy to use; fill the water tank with cold water to the desired batch size, place filter in basket, scoop the ground coffee into the paper filter, close the water tank lid and place the thermal carafe into the appliance. Important Tip: Make sure the drip stop is opened. I like that you can select regular or bold flavor. The coffee maker manually turns off when it is finished brewing. I like the thermal carafe as it keeps the coffee hot for several hours. It has a programming function where you can set the time you want the coffee to start, which I find to be very convenient.
