poor mount design

While the light is bright, the materials are poor quality. Installation was very difficult and attaching light cover virtually impossible due to very thin metal hooks. Detached 3 times before finally breaking plastic light cover. Lasted just six months and now needs replacement.

I bought two LED fixtures to replace the existing fluorescent fixtures I had in a closet. Same design, not as heavy, slightly smaller in diameter. Light output was great. Better than the existing fixture. Easy to install. I wish they made a conversion kit for the existing fixture.

Very simple instructions on how to install the light fixture itself. The LED lighting is much brighter than the old fluorescent. The brushed nickel finishing now matches the rest of the kitchen. Mounted quickly and easily to the lighting fixture. Much more modern than the previous light. Only difficulty I had was that the new wiring for these LED fixtures are very fine, and I accidentally cut one tip unexpectedly installing it. But I was working with older copper wiring and miss judged.

Better design that the original one I purchased a few years ago. I could not get a replacement LED driver for the old one, so had to buy a whole new light assembly instead. Home Depot should really carry replacement LED drivers if they are going to sell these units. These Hampton Bay lamps are are quite popular, but a customer should not have to buy a whole new unit every time the LED driver goes out. Each model of these Hampton Bay lamps appears to have its own a custom LED driver and light array and replacement parts cannot be purchased from any source. Home Depot customer service was of no help at all.

Color is not as expected

I bought this light as a night-time substitute for a large window in my bathroom, thinking the daylight color temperature would provide a good color match to light coming in through the large, high window, particularly in combination with other lights that are warmer.

I’m using this light in my home studio. I love LED lighting for its great performance and low power consumption. This unit is nice because it has 3 light settings so it fits the location it is used for. Very easy installation and working great. The edges are sharp on the lighting fixture would be the only concern that I have for this product. It cut my finger and that’s a negative experience. Just be careful for that aspect of this lighting fixture.

Good light, weak power supply, great company

We installed one of these lights in out bathroom about 5 years ago. When the bathroom was completely remodeled, the light was moved to the laundry room. For the past few months, it has been blinking then, this week, it died completely. I checked the wiring (all fine) then took down the light. Since I'm an electrical engineer, I'm familiar with diodes, etc. I checked all the LED and they all appeared to be good. The power supply was the last suspect. It appeared to have burned out - it couldn't be opened but the tell-tale smell of burning semiconductor indicated a failure of one of the internal components. I went to the HD web site to see if I could buy a replacement power supply. Nope. Called HD, they referered me to the the manufacturer, Cordelia Lighting out of California. I called them. Customer Service forwarded me to Tech Support. They asked for either a receipt (could't find it) or a picture of the model number from the light. I sent a picture of the info from the light and the info from the power supply. They are shipping me a new light, a complete unit. I hope they have improved the power supply since 2015.

Very NICE Minimalist Looking Light

This is a REALLY nice looking light that gives a great modern appearance to the ceiling with a bit of style. It gives off a great clean light and can be used with dimmer switch. I got to replace an ugly builder grade ceiling fan that we never really used and was basically just a dust catcher.

This is a nice looking and as easily installed as they come

Like many other people, the lights stop working - junk

Purchased 2 for the kitchen on 01/19/18. One fixture stopped working several months ago. The second is starting flickering on an off tonight. This appears to be a common problem with the driver. Hopefully we will have no problem obtaining replacement fixtures since these have failed within the 3 year warranty period. It's a pain to have to deal with this on such a young fixture. And, it's a shame to have to replace the whole fixture with another one just like it.

This light fixture is a hunk of junk. It's less than a year old, and it burned out. Took the plastic shade off to see what kind of bulb it has because I'm not the one who installed it. No bulb. It has an LED power supply box that has to be replaced. Looked online to find one, but they are $25 to $30. Other reviewers of this fixture have had the same problem, so I will not be buying the power supply. I will be replacing the fixture. Unfortunately, I have three of them in my house. I imagine I'll be replacing all of them, and I'll be sure to get a fixture that has a bulb, not this ridiculous power supply box.

Installation diagrams are inaccurate. Crappy design. Installation was difficult because it shows that the junction box screws fit over and connect to the fixture when the fixture wires are connected directly from below the junction box. That cannot be done because the location of the wires in the fixture with regards to the junction box screws are too far from the middle of the fixture and therefore do not fit under the junction box, therefore crimping the fixture wires. It requires the fixture wiring to be routed through the side of the junction box, which was also difficult because the fixture connection wires are so short. Also, the additional connection holes for attaching to the ceiling are to close to the middle. I had to drill my own holes for installation. I can't wait for President Trump to stop all imports from China so we can start getting better designed products. At least the light works!

Excellent light that really brightens the room. It's lightweight and easy to install, and can be done in about 5 minutes with a ladder, flat head screwdriver, wire strippers, and linesmen pliers. The exposed wiring on the light was only about 1/2", so I stripped off another inch (don't worry, there is plenty of wire to stuff back into the box), then twisted it on using the pliers, then snipped off the end and screwed on the wire caps. The unit is really light, so you can hold it in one hand while working on the wires with the other. The reason I took off a star was when I attached the cover, it never seemed to fit perfectly. You can't tell from standing on the ground (I only have 8' ceilings where this light went in) but up on the ladder looking at it up close, it seems a little lop-sided. Not too big a deal, but I couldn't take off only a half.

This light works fine but is not as adaptive to older wiring as other lights in the same market. My house was wired in the 70's and the ceiling junction/mounting boxes are smaller than newer homes. This light does not have the ability to easily mount onto my existing box. One shrew is outside of the box and into the rafter. There is little or no room under the mounting plate for wiring. It made for a messy connection and is not tight against the ceiling as it should be. I made it work but all other brands I have used have multiple attaching options that are a snap to install. I am changing all lighting in the house to LED, a couple at a time. All hallways, closets, utility area's look much better with the LED but I recommend Commercial Electric for ease of install and the price is comparable.
