directions not adequate

I bought the tub/shower faucet, studied the installation diagram and found out my wall is too thick for the valve body. The directions do not show the thickness of the wall this valve body will work with. I didn't find out until I had the tub/shower faucet in hand. American Standard needs to make the directions on the Installation Instructions sheet more clear in this regard.

Misleading depth

When I installed this tub faucet, I used the black plastic construction protector. It says right on the offset of the protector " 1 inch deeper" , so I thought I had plenty of clearance.

should have been included

I don't like the fact that the original box didn't include the adapter in the first place. now i have to pay more to repair my faucet. The box should state the wall thickness maximum.

Product is alright...not great. The handles are now a little loose and the screws that came with it were not the right size. It's better to install the fixture correctly in the first place so that you don;t have to use this.
