Doesn't work with brand new microchip
Just had a brand new microchip put in my cat at the vet today as I discovered she did not have one. It doesn't work/sync with MiBowl because it is not enough digits.
Amazing
Already have one but rescued a kitten so bought a second one!

Pleasantly surprised by how well it works, really looks like the solution for the diet of a greedy cat in a multi cat home.
It works very fine. Excelent product.
Too small for a small cat!
There was no way my small cat would stick his head into this feeder. I even put his favorite treats in it, but nope. A cat would have to stick his/her face all the way in and not be able to see. Returned it.
Could be a bit larger.
Need to rework so can have larger, longer lasting ice pack.
So wonderful there's another option for a microchip pet feeder on the market! I have 2, 1 for each cat. I really think this does a lot of things well. It's going to be good for keeping other cats out. I've found it easy to use and clean, and it works. It's a little tricky for my large and very fearful cat. If I place a treat right up to the edge of the bowl, he can usually grab it without activating the lid to open, so it's taking a while to train him to understand it. This cat makes everything difficult though so not really the product's fault. I think we'll get there eventually.
Absolute life saver. Keeps our pushy cats out and now our older kitty has access to food all the time.
Bought this about a month ago (quick delivery!). We bought this because one of our kittens doesn't eat enough of the kibble to grow properly and needs to be fed wet food. After a couple of days of having to sit with her, so our other kitten doesn't steal her food, we opted for this feeder. This way, she can have her wet food three times a day without having to finish it all in one portion (she likes to leave a bit for later) without her brother stealing it.

This is working as expected and the perfect solution to our cat-feeding problems. We have 2 cats on 2 diff prescribed diets. This dish only opens for the right cat.
Umm Chewy, did you send me a previous return??
I ordered the two Closer Pet MiBowl feeders through Chewy on 7/8/2024. They came in one box, but were in their individual boxes inside. The feeder on the left came in a normal looking, Closer Pet MiBowl box, with all of the names and long barcode number on the outside of the box. I set this up with my older cat, and it paired and works perfectly. The second feeder was contained in an unmarked box, with a very short bar code number. I believe that Chewy received it as a return, and repackaged it. I set it up without worrying about reading the microchip because our kitten had not been chipped yet. We had him neutered on July 29, 2024, and chipped at that appointment. I have spoken with the folks at Home Again, as well as at the vet, and they scanned the chip and they see Banjo’s information in their system. This means that his chip is working properly. The feeder will not link with my kitten, and closes while he is eating, with his head and shoulders in the reading area! I have tried resetting to factory settings, to no avail. At $200, I don’t want to shell out more money without stating that I believe Chewy sent me a dud, and because of the difference in packaging, I believe someone was aware it was a dud! I’ve tested it with the included microchip tag, and it does the same thing. So, the dog gets into the kitten food, and poor Banjo has to deal with sharing! Very disgruntled!
Better design than SurePet
I have this feeder and a SurePet. MiBowl is better because:
Disappointing microchip feeder
Waste of money. Yes you can program it to open for multiple pets , but I did not understand that I have to change the feeding bowl each time a different pet opened. Different feeders for each pet would be more efficient.
Great product
Great product!
Life Changing
We have a young chonker who is on diet food and a 4 year old who just recently had to start a veterinary urinary diet. This has been life changing as it works perfectly. We only wanted one that works with implanted microchips because my cat is uncomfortable in collars so our only real options to choose from were this or the Surefeed brand. This one I think is better because the food bowl is completely protected and the entry area can only fit one cat so the minute the programmed cat leaves, it closes and prevents anyone else from accessing it. Set up was a breeze, the bowl is easy to remove so maintenance is easy, and I load it twice a day with ease as I also feed wet food (not in this feeder) so I want my cat to be hungry for that. Some people have complained about the bowl being too deep, but my cat has not had any issues whatsoever. I highly recommend this product as a researched and dedicated cat mom :)
MiBowl v. Surfed
Bottom line, I loved both, almost perfect, systems above. Read on if you want an exhaustive critique and comparison:
Its beautiful and works like a charm!

It works!
We got this because our pig of a cat needs to lose weight and is always eating the grazer cat’s food. Piggy has been trying desperately to get to the food and hasn’t been successful. We got this feeder because it works with microchips and grazer cat has a habit of losing his collar. We mostly skipped the training because we were desperate to get them on track. Luckily our cat was smart enough to figure it out quickly. Your mileage may vary depending if you have a one brain cell orange cat or similar.
