I have had these bar stools for over a year. They look amazing, but the sides bump the counter and are starting to show some wear in those spots. They are also not the most comfortable barstools but the construction and materials are good for the price.

The counter stool is very strong and pretty. It has a modern look to it. The color is exactly as picture and easy to assemble. Everything you need to assemble is included. I would definitely recommend this item to family and friends.

Got this for my mom. Packaging was great, assembling was simple. She's been using it for a few years and it's still sturdy and looking great, even with two kids climbing it everyday. I would definitely recommend.

These are beautiful chairs, I purchased them to go with my craft room work island. They are precisely the correct height and they provide firm yet comfortable seating. The swivel glides, the finish is very classic and looks finished and expensive. It really requires 2 people to assemble, but the directions are clear and it goes together smoothly within approximately 20 minutes. This has been an excellent purchase!

A Beauty

This counter stool is a thing of beauty. It was easy to install. It is the perfect height for our breakfast bar. It swivels. It doesn't feel like it will break under my weight. The cushion isn't too thin. Day 2 and we are very happy with it. Several people have said the legs wobble. I was able to adjust the bottom leg cap so all the legs are even.

Best buy I have made in a long time.

This is one of the best built pieces I have ever bought. I am ordering 2 more to replace older counter stools. I put the first one together basically twice, but learned a lot. I now do step 2 first, and snug up the screws when in the legs are in proper positions. Then I place the stainless ring (holes to the floor) (1 rebuild) where it belongs and place the legs on their side and line up the holes. Then I screw the swivel in place and then tighten all the screws (another rebuild) on the base.

Verg good looking. Easy to put together. The fasteners for the circle connecter screws could and should be a bit longer as they pop out easy. The material is easily wiped clean with a soft cloth with a bit of soapy water. The finish however is already coming off some parts where my 4-year-old tiny granddaughter sits. But the design is just right.

I love our new bar stools. They look beautiful and the quality is very good. Very easy to assemble. The only things I would improve is the foot rest. Not sure how it will hold with time. I would also change the color of the foot rest to match the elegance and modern look of the rest of the chair/stool.

Beautiful chair with seat size reservations.

The chair is very handsome, swivels nicely and moderately easy to put together. However, there is one drawback and that is the size of the seat, it is about 3/4" narrower and 1.5" shorter than our previous armed swivel chairs. For an average height/width person the chair size is fine but for a tall person or full body person the seat is small. My husband is over 6' and has long legs so this is not a chair he would spend a lot of time in. I am on the small side and find the chair perfect. I would recommend the chair with reservations.

Love the bar stool

We absolutely love these. They are counter height and are a comfortable height for my 6' 3' husband as well as for me at 5' 2. They are stylish and I love having the back so you can lean back in them. The seat is well cushioned and while not soft they comfortable as well. They look great in my home and though a bit different than the rest of my furniture the blend rather than clash.

PERFECT!!!

These stools are gorgeous and comfortable! They offer support and the swivel is perfect! The counter height (26") is perfect for my kitchen island. My boyfriend is 5'11" and I am 5'4" and we both fit well. They were super easy to put together; about 30min per stool. The only caveat is that the footrest has holes on the underside and so it is directional; this wasn't called out on the instructions and so one of my stools is incorrectly put together with respect to the footrest. ********* sells a chair that is very similar to these. Not only are these less expensive than **********, they are a better quality and the finer details make a difference (hidden screws). You won't regret this purchase!

Terrific Counter Stools

I was pleasantly surprised by these counter stools. First the facts 1.) 2 counter height stools. Perfect for bar counter. 2.) High density foam padding. I weigh 240 and these are great, you don't feel the wood base on the seat. 3.) They came well packed. No scratches, dents, or nicks. 4.) Really easy assembly, all volts and hex key vacuum packed. Extra bolts included. Directions are simple, do not tighten all bolts on legs and circle till on a flat surface. All bolts clearly labeled. 5.) Pads on bottom of legs adjust to ensure chair does not wobble. 5.) Finish is clearly a coating. Simply do not jam into your counter to scratch off and you won't have a problem. 6.) Very comfortable. This was an excellent price for a nice chair. The only thing that was kind of weird was the placement of the plastic spacers between the chair and the rotating seat plate. But I checked and that's the way they said to do it. These are an excellent deal.

Get what you pay for

Rated Fair because; the foam in the cusions had no support and felt the wood base when we sat on them (wife is 125lb). Replaced all the foam in the chairs with High Density 43 foam, much better. Also replaced the swivel hardware because it was making a sound and the new ones (only $48 for 4) are so much better and I believe will last a long time (commericial grade). For the price of the chairs that we paid it was a good deal when you really look at what is involved to make a chair (material and labor). The chairs that we like sell for $500 each (comfort and better quality material), hard to justify.

In love with my counter stools at first.

In love with my new counter stools, I've been searching for a while and came upon these! The price was great when I purchased 4 of them, installation was easy - although 2/4 stools tilt to the side/uneven legs (not sure if I tighten them too tight uneven on one of the sides but will rebuild just to make sure it wasn't my mistake) . I like the comfort the cushion provides, the back support when leaning backwards is comfortable as well, and since I'm very short, I love the support for the feet. I love the colors I chose for my new kitchen, looking forward to many years with these counter stools. My counter is 35.5" tall and 87" wide. Update: It's been four months since we had them, and I'm disliking the constant squeaking sound they make every time we sit on them or move our bodies while sitting down. We have adjusted them so many times and we are just tired of it. I was in love with them at first, but not so much anymore! No longer a 5 star quality.

Either QC has slipped or I have 2 defective stools

Review is pending response from the manufacturer. When attempting to install the silver swivel bar, I encountered an issue that I can not imagine is the way this product is supposed to be. For photo #3 - I can only assume that the swivel bar is supposed to be installed in this direction, with these unnecessary holes facing toward the floor to prevent the unsightly holes from facing upwards and being visible. The problem, as seen in photo #.2, is that when installed in this direction, the screw holes will not be flush with the chair legs, requiring bending of the bar in order for the other screw holes to match up properly, and even that seemed like I was about to break the screw or bend the bar in order to achieve. Photo # 1 shows the bar installed with the holes facing upwards. In this direction, all screwholes are mounted flush against the chair legs with no bending required, but now I am left with being able to see these holes in the bars, which again appear to be entirely unnecessary and they are definitely not appealing to look at. Why do these holes exist? They appear to serve absolutely no purpose. I am hopeful that you can expedite shipping on replacement silver bars that do not have these holes in them. If I am missing something, please let me know. I could try flipping the bar around and getting all these screws in by bending the bar and using excessive force, but this feels entirely unnatural and I cannot imagine that is the way it is supposed to be. Update - The manufacturer identified the chrome foot rests as defective and sent us replacement parts. The parts received were exactly the same as the defective ones. I got on the phone with an Armen Representative, and they confirmed that this is a known issue, and the footrests are supposed to be installed with the unsightly holes facing upward (which looks very tacky). At that time I advised the rep that I would like to return them as there was no mention of the unsightly holes in the item description, and none of the photos listed showed these holes existing. The representative offered no apologies and showed no concern, and directed me to overstock if I wanted to return them. I contacted overstock, and described the issue. They waived the return shipping fee and arranged for the return. I'm happy with Overstocks customer service, but would not recommend any products from the manufacturer, Armen, due to false advertisement and the poor customer service I received when calling them.

Armen mid century modern bar stools

I was pleasantly surprised with the stools I purchased through overstock. Not only did they arrive quickly there was no damage to the cartons. The directions were easy to follow and the stools were quick to assemble. They are sturdy and made with quality materials. There was one area that was damaged. One of the legs had a small sliver of wood that appeared to have been sliced with a blade or other sharp object. Fortunately, it's still attached and I will attempt to repair it with a dot of wood glue.

Quality piece, comfortable, great customer service

Beautiful chairs and comfortable to sit in! I don't have space for a dining table in my apartment so I wanted a chair that would be as comfortable as a regular dining chair, and this works well. Had a slight issue with one of the chairs - the holes weren't aligned so I could get all 4 screws in, but was able to get 3 in and the chair still functions perfectly fine. Was also missing an end to one of the feet. The company wasn't able to provide replacement parts, but they refunded me the entire cost of the chair! If it happens to become unstable in the future, I'll definitely purchase a replacement chair.
