Spent New Years Day repotting those houseplants that needed repotting! Should have bought a larger bag. Used before; house plants seem to thrive in this soil mix

Poor Plant Advice

The lady recommended tropical soil for my succulents - even after I mentioned root rot being an issue and she assured me that tropical soil is what I wanted. Well all of the plants i repotted with it died due to improper drainage. I should've double checked before purchasing, but I googled after and sure enough - tropical soil is the WORST kind of a soil to use for succulents. What a waste. The helpful hardware folks does NOT include plants.

Great product!

I use this product with Potting soil, Orchid Bark, and perlite. I strain out the lava rocks and put them in my aroid mix. I’ll stick with the all Miracle Gro products for my homemade aroid mix! Definitely recommend!

I use this product and sift out the lava rocks to put in my homemade aroid mix. I use Miracle Gro Potting Mix, Miracle Gro Perlite, and Miracle Gro Orchid Bark for my aroid mix. Once I separate the peat moss and lava rocks I put the peat moss aside and add the lava rocks in my aroid mix. All my plants love this soil. Affordable and a great product!

Great potting mix - versatile and effective

Perfect soil mix for potting as it doesn’t compact and allows for excellent drainage. I often combine it with other soil mixes that seem to need better drainage for other types of potted plants.

I gave this product an excellent rating because I think it's a good, lightweight soil for tropical houseplants. I used it to transplant a Croton that I just bought, so we'll see how it does over time. Crotons are a bit finicky about their indoor environment. So, if it doesn't do well over time, it may not be the fault of this soil. It may be that the house isn't warm enough for this plant. Time will tell. But I'd buy this soil again for other houseplants that need a lightweight soil.

Not a fan

I expected more. I opened the bag to 90% dust. On the bag it says that there is lava rocks, which I haven’t seen yet. I have only used half the bag but still waiting.

You can't tell till you open it.

Purchased six bags and the last bag I used was not the same. All five bags were dark in color and had lava rocks. The last bag was is light brown and no lava rocks and is now molding in the flower pot.
