Shine gone after first use

I'm normally impressed by Alessi products - these are supposed to be 18/10 stainless steel, but the polished look left these after first use. Not experienced this with any 18/10 product before. Perhaps it was the acid from the tomatoes in the pasta sauce? Our old cutlery still looks more polished after years and years of use.

Why have we never bought this item previously?

This is so practical and effective, why have we struggled with poor alternatives (for picking up spaghetti) for too many years. It's transformed our pasta meals and the contents end up on plates, not the table!
