Great bookshelf. Very happy with the height and how it looks. It's durable and the perfect height between levels on the shelves. I have plants and books on it.

No particle board here! This bookcase is truly high quality solid wood! The wood shelves have a very natural appearance and are a great height for books or knick-knacks. Very pleased with this purchase. I only wish I'd had room for the second one, but having two made our sitting area look crowded so I had to pay to ship one back. (Beware: Return shipping is hefty on this heavy an item!)

Sturdy easy to assemble. Very satisfied.

Only one issue, strong paint smell on the wood shelves. I unpacked,left on my outside lanai for 3 days. That remedied most of smell. Easy to assemble,very sturdy, heavy but that's what I wanted. Must say, this may be my favorite thing purchased from Overstock yet. Smell is gone now.

Great sturdy bookshelf. Beautiful design. Hard wood and metal parts, simple assembly, legible and easy to understand instructions and the shipping was right on time. The only drawback and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars; the smell from the staining on the wood is quite overpowering. I aired out the contents of the shipment on my front porch for 6 hours to no avail. It's still a really strong smell that I hope will dissipate quickly. But, it looks amazing in my space and I would definitely buy it again!

The shelves are slightly different colors, even from each other. I had previously purchased end tables from the same line, and the shelves are lighter in color than the end table tops. There was an odor that has taken a few days to disappear. It was packaged well. I felt that the dimensions were different than what I thought they would be. The top shelf is the dimension advertised, but the other shelves are smaller in depth (10 1/2 inches). Overall, the bookcase looks good.

Looks great......smells horrible. Opened box and left in garage for two days, then put together and sat in living room for a day before moving into bedroom. Then used baking soda on all shelfs for a day before vacuuming up. Does smell better but if you get to close, you can smell a hint of "stain smell"

Overall I’m very happy with Alaterre furniture and especially their Pomona line. I’m a fan of the rustic style and this fits very well. The sturdiness is immediately apparent. The frame is solid and the shelves are thick and heavy. I’m using this for musical instrument component display and couldn’t be happier. One negative would have to be the smell when it first arrives. Was taken aback by the foul synthetic like machine oil smell all over this, NOT pleasant. Otherwise great piece of furniture.

This bookcase is very sturdily made. The shelves are solid wood, not plywood or particle board. The stain and finish is rustic, but pretty and goes with the industrial look of the piece. Easy to assemble too. Cost a little more than some similar ones but the quality is worth it.

Perfect addition to our home office. Stylish, organized storage. Assembly was as expected (thanks to my husband). Flexible piece that could easily transition to another room if necessary.
