Good look & features. Fairly easy to assemble.

I liked the look & decent sale price so much on these shelves that I bought 3. Dove gray matte finish is lovely & true to online pic. Overall great size & sturdiness. My only complaint is the covers for the outside side screws are just wimpy stickers & not real "plugs" made of wood or even plastic. I own 3 similar-look shelves without the drawers that came with attractive & useful screw hole covers, even though shelves were less expensive.

Solid piece, but assemble carefully

This is a fine piece, but like so many assembled pieces, no effort went into the instructions, which contain several small errors. You can manage, but I'd recommend not tightening any screw until you're certain the pieces are in the right place and you know which way is up. Why the companies don't hire a technical writer is beyond me. Also, the shelves are about 1-inch too short for tall display books. (I got the version with the drawer in the middle, which is shallow but very useful for chargers.)

Very sturdy and attractive!

I managed to assemble this bookcase alone (70 year old female) but it would have been much easier to have two people as the bookcase is quite heavy. I was pleased that all of the pieces aligned and the quality was good. I used a black sharpie to cover any nicks and it worked fine! I wasn't crazy about the exposed hardware. They give you black paper circles to cover them..hmmm...seriously?

First off, let me say that I hate fake wood. I do what I can to avoid it when buying furniture. However, I was replacing my teenager’s bookshelf and this shelf fit all the size restraints along with being super sturdy and affordable. It is also very attractive and matches the rest of her bedroom furniture. However, this was one of the most annoying pieces I have ever put together. And I love putting furniture together. I know I am weird for this. The directions for this were so minimal and confusing. And the way it was put together was nearly impossible to do with just one he person. Some of the hardware was also very cheap in that the screws seemed to get totally stripped with very little screw turning. Anyway overall a good piece aside from the assembly. Attractive and sturdy and not immediately recognizable as MDF.

NOT at all what I expected

The quality is so cheap. What a disappointment. Ordered in the grey. And it’s short. The whole reason I bought this thing was because it had a drawer. What a FAIL that was. Total lemon of a product. Thank goodness customer service was so great. I DO NOT recommend. Not overstocks fault...I’ve ordered from them in the past and in fact the item I purchased just before this one was absolutely awesome. Choose another bookcase.

Great quality, coot is great and very sturdy.

This shelf is great, we had bought 2 in the white color for our living room and loved them so decided to get this. The color is great and the drawer is an added bonus. We are using in our kitchen/dining area to store my cookbooks and some display items. It is very sturdy and it was easy to put together, We did however already put together the other two so it was was easier to out this one togerer,

This is a cute bookcase for sure. I ordered against my better judgment after reading several reviews that said that parts did not have the holes drilled properly or in some cases holes were absent. I would not recommend anyone buy this bookshelf unless they have access to a power drill, which I do not. Came with the top of the bookshelf completely lacking any holes drilled at all. As such will need to either borrow or buy a drill now to finish putting it together. Very disappointing. After so many reviews saying the same thing you would think Overstock might improve their quality control?

Fabulous cherry/black bookshelf!

For me, the box arrived with many parts and a whole bunch of screws/bolts. I hadn’t put a lot of furniture together and felt overwhelmed. I took my time and it was challenging. At one point when trying to get pieces together a part started splitting some of the wood, I caught it in time. I absolutely love the end result and I’m buying another piece in the group!

Tall black shelf for office

This is really tall and took awhile to assemble, partly because I got a whole section backwards. Lol. The drawer is a nice feature for supplies. The knobs however won’t tighten so turn. Still functional so not a big deal. Nice for a few pictures, a few books, and a few baskets. I wouldn’t recommend loading it up with all books due to their weight per shelf.

I really like the design of this book shelf. Very sturdy for its size! I live in a small apartment, so I didn’t want anything too big and clunky. This is perfect! It’s not overwhelming at all. Just adds a nice accent to the living room, but has plenty of space for books, candles or whatever you want to use it for. I got it in white/driftwood. White brightens up my living room, but driftwood adds a nice contrast so the piece doesn’t blend into my white walls (if that makes sense). I like that it has a drawer, but mind you it is shallow. So, you won’t be able to fit more than maybe some magazines or in my case, packs of tealight candles. Putting this together was pretty easy too with the help of someone else and a power drill. Took about an hour total. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend!

The parts were shipped in one box. The box was torn open on one end. While nothing was missing, several parts were scratched up and the caster/roller casing was cracked. Instructions assume the readers knows how to insert cam-locks. One part of the instruction leaves out installing the drawer support bar - it is in the illustration but not the written instructions. The product itself is heavy and looks nice. I’m okay with the lived-in scratched look, as they aren’t too bad, but am very aware of the cracked roller casing as the drawer catches on it and I doubt it will hold up very long. Be prepared to be patient while putting together and pay more attention to the illustrations than the written instructions.

I didn’t expect it to be anything fancy and its actually more sturdy than I was imagining but the box came all busted up and the paint was badly scratched on every shelf. Now that it’s up with stuff on it you don’t notice and it’s just a storage shelf for our computer room but buyer beware if you are thinking about putting it somewhere people could see the scratches or nails because they didn’t send us any covering for the holes either. I like it but I was slightly let down! Amazon has a similar product with terrible reviews so I chose this one having more confidence in overstock.
