I give this a 2 1/2, for an open cabinet it's not that easy to put together. We did it over several days. Instructions could be more informative and complete. One example is they don't advise to make a pilot hole first before putting in the screws that hold the unit together so they don't go in straight and come through the board. If the screw doesn't go all the way through it makes a lump on the shelf when it should be flat and cracks the finish. Also there is a terrible odour after the pieces are unwrapped. That has now lingered for more than a month. Once assembled it's a nice looking unit from a distance when you can't see the pop throughs. I wouldn't buy this again.

Cheaply made for the price

The backing was in small individual pieces the size of each shelf, the finish on the outside was cracked, the dowel rods for connecting the shelves were flimsy.

This bookcase allows a maximum weight of 10 lbs per shelf! That is woefully inadequate for holding books. The website does not mention that weight limit; that is false advertising by omission of essential details. Also, because of its instability, the assembly instructions include how to attach the bookcase to the wall so it won't fall forward. I am very disappointed in this product.

Worst product I've purchased from Home Depot

Basically this product is garbage. The pre-drilled holes which do exist are misaligned. nothing is cut to proper dimensions. almost nothing is marked for assembly. The included screws are bolts, therefore making it extremely easy to damage the product with the nonexistent pre-drilled holes. save your money and buy something better.

These were very difficult to put together and started falling apart immediately. The rating said 10 pounds per shelf but the top shelf started to bow a week after I put them together. The finish was very pretty but I would not recommend due to lack of quality

I still don’t have it! First order arrived broken in half. Lowe’s required me to take the 80 lb package to the nearest store to get a refund (I ordered it delivered so I wouldn’t have to carry it home in my small car). I immediately reordered a new one which is still not delivered a week past the new promised date, further Lowe’s cannot give me a new delivery status. They claim they don’t know why it can’t be delivered. It took me over a half hour on hold to find that out.

The hardest thing to assemble and also the backing of it was grey not even white

good rec room or dorm storage

This a nice low budget bookcase that holds a fair amount.But it was difficult to assemble and the instructions are only pictures. I would recommend putting the back on last, not in the numbered order because the decorative pieces need to be screwed in. The screws are exposed on the sides and the stickers that are supposed to cover them look cheap. All in all it's a good looking piece for rec room storage.

It’s super thin and it does not look nothing like the photo. Do not waste your money.

This is beautiful but each shelf has a 10 pound weight limit. Most of my books are hard covered and just a few weigh more than 10 pounds.

Plan on two hours to put together

Close to as advertised and a pain to put together but I would buy again

Not recommended

The finished product is nice but the assembly of these bookcases are a nightmare. No parts are marked and a lot of guess work is required to get the right piece in the right place.

No instructions

Great product, had a code on the box to watch a put it together video but no printed instructions. Had to go online and search awhile for a pdf instruction guide. It is still the best particle board bookcase I have ever gotten.
