Tried a couple stands, tried to save money but ended up buying this in the end. It's the only super adjustable stand for your hardware. The amount of space and breathing for hardware is just top notch. Everything else was too close or not as adjustable.

The rack certainly is nice. Love the aesthetic, and it supports all my gear no problem. I will say that leveling this thing is tedious as all hell. Inherently, it that comes with the territory of a completely modular rack. I recommend getting the floor spikes that way you do have an initial definitive end point at the bottom to then get things flush once you work up to the top.

Salamander Archetype 3.0

The Archetype 3.0 is a super sturdy easy to put together piece of furniture and can support incredible weight. I have guitar amp heads on mine that weight 40 to 50 pounds each. The one downside to the option with Black shelves is that the off-gassing is pretty crazy. Be prepared to let this sit out in the garage for a week to off-gas.

I ordered the Salamander Archetype

I ordered the Salamander Archetype 3.0 Three Self Audio Rack to house my records and cd's. With the rack I ordered two sets of bookends and the multi-media drawer. While I received the cherry rack (the last one in stock) within two days of ordering, due to supply problems, I had to wait about 2 months to receive the book ends and drawer. I am not the sharpest pencil in the box but with a lot of hand holding from Salamander Customer Service, I was able to complete the assembly. I live the Archetype System and the new 3 tier compliments my 7 shelf Archetype equipment rack. I highly recommend the Archetype System. Versatile and beautiful, well thought out and engineered. Salamander Archetype 3.0 Audio Shelf.

It was well boxed and parts protected. The instructions were clear and illustrated well. This is well made, beautiful furniture, well thought out in design. I got two sets of bookends to support my albums and the drawer for my cd's on my monthly play list. Gorgeous cherry shelves. Goes well with my 7 tier Archetype equipment rack. Well worth every penny.

Fantastic Rack

The rack is visually unobtrusive, which is what I want in a rack. It went together easily and I really like the fact that I could add an extra shelf and adjust to any shelf height I wanted, allowing heat-producing components to have more room to "breathe". When finished, with all of the bolts tightened down, it is very solid. On the corners, each shelf is sandwiched between rubber washers for vibration dampening. I could not directly evaluate how effective that is, but my system sounds great on these racks, with a great soundstage and imaging!

Beautiful, sturdy and well made addition to my home.

Attractive, sturdy, spartan equipment rack.

This is a lovely very sturdy rack . I've had an archetype TV stand for years so I was familiar with the brand. The stand is easy to build, very flexible, and the cherry shelves are very attractive and solid. I'm using this for a turntable, receiver and LP records on the bottom shelf. The bookends available as an accessory are perfect for holding the LPs. You get 4 bookends which I have attached to the bottom of the middle shelf and the top of the bottom shelf to provide better support for the LPs.

This is great; perfect for my setup and was able to cut down the height easily and still retain the use of the 2 shelves.

Perfect solution

Wanted an unobtrusive rack to hold some AV components. The Salamander shelving was perfect for my application. It sits on a Spanish tiled floor that has natural irregularities. The nut and bolt shelf mounting design allows all four feet to be firmly on the floor and with some minor adjustments ensure that each shelf is perfectly level. It is a simple and cleverly designed piece of furniture—modern and simultaneously invisible, showcasing the system components. Very pleased with this unit.
