Good sturdy shelf. Easy to install. It is not a completely level surface by design... slopes downward to wall. Guessing to help things from falling of/out from shelf?

The only 18" shelves

Looked all over for 18" shelves. 12" are too short for large boxes. 24" too deep and take up space. These shelves are heavy duty, bolt directly into studs, wall, and not through adjustable runner. They are slightly tilted by designed - don't be alarmed - to prevent items slipping of. Three groves on shelves supports fit into metal wire mesh to prevent moving. You can further secure it with zipties for extra security. Best bang for the buck for 18 inches.

Heavy duty garage shelves

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I bought the MonsterRAX Steel Wall Mounted Shelf - 18" D x 48" L - 500 lb Weight Capacity (Set of 2) for $90. I was really excited to get to try these because I currently have two hanging garage storage racks in my garage. They are hanging from the ceiling on the back wall, but I'm unable to hang more due to weight capacity per stud. These shelves are great because I was able to hang them on the wall lined up with my other racks giving me more high storage space. These aren't as large, but they can hold 4-6 smaller totes (two rows) or 1-2 larger ones. I have one large tote and two regular size totes (stacked on top of each other) on one of the shelves. My husband installed one shelf this past weekend and he'll install the other one once I make room for it. The instructions were primarily pictures so a few written instructions would have been helpful. I liked that the instructions showed pictures of which tools were needed (not included). My husband said the shelf was a little difficult to install. The bolts should have more space between them and where the shelf drops in at the back. However, I love the end result. The shelves seem extremely heavy duty and durable. They can hold up to 250lbs each. Four versatile hooks are included allowing you to hang bikes or other items off the ground. I didn't use these because I installed the shelves over floor standing shelving units. The shelves also have a rear tilt which helps prevent stored items from falling off the shelf. There's a small lip at the edge as well. Overall, I'm very happy with these and can't wait to finish organizing my garage.

They do need installed into wood studs per instructions, so my original installation location needed to be modified. Instructions were very clear and necessary hardware was included. Very pleased with quality and how sturdy they are. Highly recommend.

These shelves were so good we bought two more sets after we put up the first! They are big and if you correctly mount them in studs, they hold 160lbs!

Sturdy shelving unit that is easily installed

I installed these shelves in my garage for added storage. It took about an hour to put them up. The amount of additional storage created helped me get my garage organized a looking good. The are made with good quality materials and the instructions were easy to follow. I would definitely buy them again if i need more of these in the future. Two thumbs up.

Complicated, but hopefully worth it

This seemed a bit overly complicated to install, as you have to back-track on a few steps in order to get some of the screws to fit and get the top grates to lay flat, but otherwise it seems to be doing the job nicely. It instantly cleared up plenty of floor and wall space in my garage which my wife has now filled with MORE stuff. We're living the dream!

18X48 shelves are slanted

My online order was delivered within a week. The shelves were sturdy once installed. But, after install I noticed that the shelves appeared slanted toward the back. Using a square the front is over an inch higher than the back. The slant is quite noticeable. I checked the 24X48 shelves I installed earlier and found they were also slanted by 1/2”. 1/2” slant on the 24” depth is not as noticeable. However 1” on the 18” depth is very noticeable. SaferRacks should disclosed this detail on their product so buyers are not surprised after installation.

Excellent shelves, bad directions

Excellent shelves. I had a hard time figuring out what pilot size holes to drill because they don’t tell you, and don’t tell the size of the lag screws. Like many products these days, the instructions are little pictures that you can only understand after you figure it out by trial and error.

Perfect solution for my garage

This is a very sturdy shelf unit with deep shelves that easily accepts large green plastic bin boxes. Shelves are adjustable. I bought the eight foot model which fits under the garage door when open but, since I wanted to put boxes on the top shelf, I didn't put it at the highest level. The wire shelves make it difficult to slide boxes on and off so I may add some MDF shelf material. I would definitely buy the shelf unit again.

Bought one, coming back for more

Bought a set of these rack for the garage and they are great! the holes in the brackets are very useful - I've put my fishing rods(5) through them, i've put 3 hockey sticks through them and I even put a small hanging rod through them where i clip all the bike helmets to. I've hung a baby stroller from them, and the kids' scooters. I did not hang the bikes, because we use them too frequently. These racks are so useful in many different ways, I'm going to install a 2nd set on my other garage wall.
