Beautiful slate but the larger pieces are cut a little smaller than they should be leaving gaps and tight spots in the grout joints. The pattern is very difficult to figure out with only a small layout picture of one kit. I cut out a bunch of the patterns and taped them together to make a larger pattern that was easier to read so that you didn’t get confused as much.

This is a beautiful floor! Having done 20 previous tiling projects this is a challenging DIY project. We laid out and cut the entire floor before applying thinset and installing This helped immensely.

Do not buy these tiles. I shipped them to the Home Depot store and they all arrived at the store damaged and broken. The color doesn't look anything like the photos online, they were smudged and stained. The other bad reviews are right, very disappointed.

The stone was beautiful however not completely gauged in the sense that the 8 by 8 squares were always thinner then the rest. There was an inconsistency with thicknesses. The stone is true to color (between a Navy Gray and charcoal color.) I would not call it black. When ordering pallets there were very few breaks, however when ordering cases individually up to half of the case was broken which is problematic since it's a pattern. We had to decline or return four cases. During installation our tile guy noted that they cut well and did not fall apart or crumble.
