Loved the idea but the base was horrible

No quality control. The base had small bubbles in the finish some were clear and some were dirty looking and there was a scratch up the side but the box completely in tack. This took forever to get and is received in two boxes. One for base and one for everything else. So it was very difficult to return on my own. Since it is one sku they wouldn’t just replace the base. Very disappointed in their quality control. I also was told this was a discontinued product.

No, where the glass meets in the corner with two magnetic strips does not work very poor design. I’m been a carpenter my whole life it’s straight And plum the stripping does not work.

it was easy to install, sadly it has a bottom aluminum sill ( it said frameless).

Looks Great but Pool Seals

Product looks nice however numerous leaks despite experienced installer applying silicone according to instructions. The strip at the base of the door does not stop water from leaking outside. I am off to home depot to find a strip that works. Water leaking where hinges are and where side strips reach the base. More silicone applied. One hinge was broken. We were told to apply WD 40. Sent a photo with the problem and vigo couriered a replacement hinge. Contractor had to take off door and start again. Home Depot did provide a credit but in the end I will be out of pocket. Not a happy customer!

We ended up not using these glass doors. They were absolutely perfect in every shape and form. They just ended up not fitting how we thought but they were very easy to resell and who knew glass was so expensive. This was 100 a great buy for us. We would do it again. Shipping was great.

Leaks!! Good looking shower but poor gasket/seal - leaks!!

looks great and perfect size for a compact bathroom HOWEVER the side gasket and or magnetic catch started to leak after a year....and not just a little. Water pours out from the hinges near the bottom. No available replacement gaskets/magnetic catch listed here so I cannot recommend this product unfortunately. The potential water damage isn't worth it.

Not at all as slick as pictured

I bought this trusting Vigo's fine touch on products. It was a disappointment. The seamless look isn't true in reality; there are THICK and ugly pieces of plastic at the seams that can't be removed because you'll get leaks otherwise. You can't see them in the picture here, but they are quite visible and ruin the look. In a newly remodeled bathroom with dark granite tiles, it looks like a very cheap piece.

Solid shower system

Very elegant looking shower system. The plumber who installed commented on how solid the base and doors were. Installation went smoothly with a second plumber helping it took about 3.5 hours. I have been using it about a month and have had the plumber back twice to silicone around the hinges that attach the glass doors to the walls as water was leaking through to th outside; similarly it was sleeping through the bottom where the tracks meet the base. So basically you need to silicone everywhere really well. Maybe that was the plumbers bad but they’ve installed a lot of doors but never a Vigo. Other than that i am very pleased and would recommend it.

High Quality

My first install. Bought it at the beginning of remodel to set base. Base was easy to install. Installed the glass after tile. Very straight forward instructions but take your time. Everything squared up nicely and adjustments were within reason. Could have included a few more shims for the door. Pretty heavy so get two people. Whatever they treat the glass with to resist water spots, works. Everyone who sees it loves it. Thanks Vigo

Excellent quality

We just had our frameless shower installed by a contractor this week. We were impressed with the quality of the glass, base, and finishes. Unfortunately our shower did leak in one location between the glass and the base where water was pooling in the rail. I contacted Vigo and they were excellent in recommending a solution for this problem. My contractor followed their instructions and now we have a non leaking shower. It’s a big piece of mind knowing that a company stands behind their products. Looking forward to many years of happy showering!

Outstanding Look and Fit

We needed to update our master bath to replace an old enclosure that was not installed correctly (over the years the pan cracked and seams along the walls and door leaked). This was an perfect replacement for our space. Following the directions VERY carefully this install went great. We were able to save all wall tile and not do a total tear out and rebuild. It took some time to fit in (tile trim was required) but totally worth the effort. Looks better then it ever did, not a single leak and pan is rock solid.

It's been several years since I bough these and I have both positives and negative feedback. If I could separate the 2 items, I would give a 5 star review to the glass enclosure. It's sturdy, the glass is thick, the metal hinges etc are of high quality. On the other hand, the base, made of fiberglass, cracked within a year. We replaced it with a tiled, poured concrete base. Another positive point about the glass enclosure is that it survived the deconstruction and reinstallation perfectly!

This shower enclosure looks better on the picture than in person. . . The handles are some how to big and out of proportion for this size enclosure. and after installation not all the brackets seam to line up perfectly straight. . . The door seals really tight, it feels like opening a subzero freezer. This shower has been installed in a guest bathroom and it has not been used yet, but I feel all those seals will look yucky pretty fast. In the picture you can not see the seals, but in person they are very noticeable.

[Rewarded Review] Nice looking Shower

My new shower is about 3 weeks old. The bathroom it went in is quite small and this item, because of the 2 sides of glass, has successfully made the bathroom look much larger. It is good looking and quite functional-you must wipe the glass down immediately after each use. I have had some trouble with the hinge door's insulation tape getting caught between the 2 glasses--movable and static glass-leading to water leaks. My remodeler made a change to the placement of that plastic insulation tape and I will now see if that solves the problem.

Excellent quality enclosure

I consider myself a very good DIYer and the installation of this product required great patience and precise installation. The reviews I have read where customer complains about door not shutting correctly or perhaps water leakage by the door can all probably be traced back to poor installation. The installation manual clearly states that manufacturer recommends that this product be installed by a professional. In addition, because of the excessive weight of the product, at least two strong individuals are needed to install the enclosure.

Love the look, but very finicky!

It's like a fancy foreign sports car: looks gorgeous, but you need to be prepared to have to fiddle with it to get it to perform the way you want. The glass is very heavy and perhaps because of that we had many problems with this leaking because of crooked or sagging panels--even when installed by a licensed contractor. (And just try getting them to come back for something like this!) We had two of them try to get it right and finally had a glass guy come out and tweak it and re-caulk. Seems to be ok for now, but I'm always holding my breath and looking for leaks. I figure it's only a matter of time before the weight of the panels cause things to start sagging again and leaks to develop. If I had it to do over, I would probably not get a frameless glass surround.

1 year later, disappointing.

Update: 7 Years later this needs to be replaced. The glass is permanently fogged despite all our efforts to clean it with every known chemical. All the nickel fixtures are rusted. Pretty frustrating. I now give it one star We installed this shower about a year ago. Really liked the price and the look, but there have been issues. We had the base professionally installed, but it settled/warped out of plumb. We had to mount the glass at an angle to make the door seal with the short wall. No fun, but it works and you'd never notice unless you already knew. Not long after we installed it, the glass began to fog over despite religiously spraying it after every use with a shower spray. Soap scum? Hard water? We've tried every spray you can imagine and scrubbing to get it off - no luck. The latest problem and most alarming: nearly every piece of brushed nickel is showing rust spots! Not good. The only reason I didn't give this a 1 star rating is because it was cheap, and I'm hopeful we'll find a solution for the problems. Sigh.

Beautiful product

We replaced the old PVC prefab shower and tiled the wall with marble and mosaic tile. The order of the shower was delayed due to a backorder but was well worth the wait. Everything was packaged well and all parts were indicated on the parts list.
