Luxury Underfoot

This rug is an attractive very dark navy blue base with a white pattern. The product description says "ivory" which I always interpret as a light beige or cream color, but this is definitely white white. The navy blue shag is actually woven with some lighter colored threads mixed in and this gives it a very pleasant "texture" (see photo). I have ordered Safavieh rugs before and they have a very solid backing. As a result, it's usually necessary to back roll the ends of the rug when you first lay it down so the edges don't curl from being rolled tightly for shipping.

I ordered this as I loved the pattern. I was disappointed when it arrived as it felt very light weight, cheaply made, and sooo many silver fibers running through it. Not a fan. It was sent back. As a side note, I usually love the Safavieh rugs but this was an exception.

Rug is soft, color and length were perfect. I didn’t give a 5 star because the piling was too high for our front hallway door area which is where I initially wanted to use it. I would not recommend this if you want it close to your front door. Instead it’s at my kitchen sink which looks really nice. Also had to purchase a rubber pad because it moves easily.

This rug came securely rolled in a heavy plastic. The ends curl up a bit due to the rolling. I placed it on the floor upside down and back rolled it and within a day it was laying flat. The back has a jute backing and I used a rug pad to prevent slippage and scratching the wood floors.
