Twist further to lock position.
Works great. When you turn the bean holder to lock, twist it more til it clicks. The machine won’t start unless it is clicked in. We thought it wasn’t working til it clicked to lock. Maybe the instructions could indicate this.
[Rewarded Review] Love to grind coffee
I am super happy with MR. Coffee - Mr. Coffee 18 Cup Automatic Burr Grinder, I love fresh coffee. The best way to get that is to use freshly ground beans. My coffee maker did not have a grinder so does works great and I just use the grounded coffee in my coffee makers. You can make all different grinding sizes from coarse to fine. It is very easy to use and clean, I highly recommend it
[Rewarded Review] Great coffee grinder
I have had this grinder for some time now and it works really well! The mill is great quality and grinds to your exact needs when choosing grind and amount. Its very aesthetically pleasing, a sleek design. Highly recommend!
If you drink a lot of coffee, save your money and buy something nicer
Worked really well for about a year, but has officially crapped out in less than 18 months of owning it. Smoked up my kitchen and everything. If you are a constant coffee drinker who is grinding a lot of whole beans, it is probably worth it to spend a little more money on something of higher quality. Wish I had listened to the other reviews.
Grinder Size Preset Does Not Work
This grinder is just okay. The grinder size preset does not work. Even when set to the largest size, everything comes out as a fine powder. The grinder will stop working if the ball bearing where the bean hopper locks into is clogged. The trick is to use a q-tip to clear the area around the ball bearing so that the hopper can lock into it properly.
Terrible
The grind adjustment knob is not marked well to see which position is in. The ground bean container , if you don’t push it downwards as you slid it it it won’t engage properly to start the grind. Also the wall of the ground beans will buildup with a chunk of powder. After about six months of use, now it won’t automatically stop if you go past the 2 serving setting. Now the grind adjustment knob won’t go the the fine ground setting without making some unusual popping noises and not grinding fine either. I don’t recommend this grinder. Spend a little more and buy a better one.
Grinds great but it’s messy
Bought this in a pinch after our Bodum went out. I must say I love everything about it from ease of settings to bean hooper. BUT I have no idea how this thing got approved for design with the mess it makes. When I go to pull out the container grounds everywhere and it’s impossible to get them into the coffee machine without making it go everywhere. The design needs corrected . Honestly it would be the only reason I switched is so I’m not constantly cleaning the kitchen
Not working after only 4 months
Bought on Amazon and after first time would not grind fine enough for a kurig and I would have to run it through twice. I used it every three weeks to grind a bag of coffee. Cleaned it as instructed and stored it. Tonight it locked up and started to smoke. I immediately stopped it, cleaned it out and checked for any trapped beans. After that it wouldn't turn on at all. I purchased it Mar. 1 and in four months it is done.
Not good for coarse grinds
No matter what setting you have this grinder on, it’s inconsistent and always a fine ground. I used this grinder twice on the most coarse setting and got a batch of inconsistent grounds, and none were coarse. Save your money.
Not worth it. Spend the extra $10 and buy the Cuisinart.
Bought this as a replacement for our Cuisinart that worked great for 10 years. This one had inconsistent grind. Stopped working after 3 months. The hopper cracked and then the grinder nearly caught on fire. Would not recommend.
3 months
I bougth it 3 months ago and today the coffee grinder did not work anymore
Utter garbage.
Complete garbage. Half the time it won't even work, other times it won't stop grinding regardless of what setting you have it on, even perfectly cleaned it will still never function right. The hopper is too tiny and the grind is inconsistent. Do NOT waste you're money on this inferior product.
Don't waste your money.
Bought this grinder less than a year ago. It's incredibly loud, grinds were inconsistent, the basket fits really weird causing it to not start often, and it caused a mess due to a lot of static build up. The last straw was when it started only doing a coarse grind regardless of where the dial was. I cleaned it and it made it worse.
Dont buy
This grinder makes such a mess and the grinds are inconsistent.
Meh
It's super loud and makes a mess because it's always full of static and the grinds go everywhere. Sometimes it doesn't start when you press the button and you have to give the machine a shake so the beans go in the right place to deactivate the automatic empty container shutoff. The grinds are ok. I'm not sure how uniform it really is, but it works. But I'm not a huge fan
Doesn't Work
I purchased Mr Coffee cafe grind Burr Grinder from Amazon, completed all the cleaning put my beans into hopper did not come on, returned that one and Amazon replaced it with another of same, same experience did not work. I called the 800 number spoke with a customer service representative, she went through all the procedures for checking grinder, she then said Mr Coffee would replace grinder. The grinder was sent and I received today 04/22/2022, same problem it does not work. I want a grinder that works! I am going to call again today and get my money back, I need a product that works.
Do not buy this
The ONLY thing good about this grinder is that it's cute. It is messy, inaccurate, and inconsistent. It is the worst grinder I have ever used.
Don't buy it!
Only grinds of fine no matter how to set the dial grinds to a fine powder. Water won't drip thru powder the basket overflows and coffee everywhere and grounds in the pot. This grinder doesn't make coffee it makes sludge and a mess!
fake "burr" grinder 0 stars avoid at all costs
this mr coffee grinder is advertised as a burr grinder, but the grinds that it outputs are so inconsistent and non-uniform, that it actually performs ten fold worse compared to my cheap $20 cuisinart blade grinder. this fake horrible “burr” grinder has 18 grind settings; 1 being extra fine (turkish coffee, espresso) & 18 being extra coarse (french press, cold brew). i’ve tried all 18 of the “different” grind settings, and this piece of junk always produces grinds that are 20% extra extra extra coarse, 20% super fine powder, 50% medium course grinds, & 10% of medium grinds. unlike real burr grinders, which have superior CONICAL cone shaped burr grinders… the mr coffee fake “burr” grinder uses inferior FLAT “burr” grinders that end up heating up and stripping the natural oils and flavours from the coffee beans and produce the same inconsistent and non uniform coffee grinds that make your pourover/drip coffee taste like watered down crap and your french press coffee taste way too oily and gritty due to the super fine powder “grinds” that ALWAYS get mixed into the final grind output REGARDLESS of what grind setting you choose. it’s way too loud too. i’m talking louder than a blendtec smoothie blender… whenever i wanted to make coffee at night, i had to take this piece of junk grinder to the garage and put a towel over it to try to reduce the sound AND because little coffee grinds end up flying out of the nooks and crannies of this grinder EVERY SINGLE TIME and makes it a huge mess to clean up. and even though i could be considered a “coffee snob” lol, this mr coffee “burr” grinder can’t even make grinds that are consistent and the right size for those cheap $20-30 drip coffee makers that use your good ol’ standard medium grind that you can buy pre ground at any supermarket. i did a little experiment where i took out an old bag of your typical medium grind pre ground supermarket coffee, and compared the grind sizes with this mr coffee “burr”grinder set to the medium “drip” coffee grind setting too, and unsurprisingly, the mr coffee junk couldn’t even get standard medium grind drip coffee right — producing grinds that were 50% coarse, 10% super fine powder, 10% extra coarse; only 30% was actual medium grinds.
Sierra
After a few weeks of using it will only grind super course which makes my coffee super watery.
