Excellent mechanics

The hinge is easier to adjust than similar products, the trick to loosening the tension is to tap the allen wrench with a hammer. Each tap will back one tension setting.

Absolute Garbage, Won't loosen

Absolute garbage (N185-207). If I could give a zero or negative star I certainly would. Ended up throwing all three (3) in the trash and went bought regular hinges, different manufacture with a commercial door closer. Install on commercial building, interior fire rated door.

Can't loosen, otherwise ok

Easy to install. Easy to tighten. Difficult/impossible to loosen. Instructions simply don't help. I cannot press and turn counter clockwise. Maybe superman could. Unlike other models, this does not have pin to remove.

Questionable quality

I haven't installed this type of spring hinge before, but have installed dozens of a different type (small pins that are rotated). It didn't seem to function at all out of the package and once it was installed it either had too little tension or the door wouldn't open. After resetting it a couple times it finally broke. All I can sort out is it was defective. Turned a simple fix into an hour long project that isn't finished.

Never have to worry about my kids leaving an open door. The hinge is quiet and super easy to install. It looks great, and it is seamless. I recommend the hinge to anyone that wants a piece of mind of your door closing behind you automatically.

Works well. Instructions could have been better. The hinge comes locked for use. You have to unlock it to install and the instructions don’t go over how to do this. We had to insert the Allen key and hammer it to get it to unlock.

I purchased 2 of these hinges for a steel fire door between my garage and house. They were to replace some old hinges that finally broke after 10 years of use. I installed both and gave them enough tension to close the door. After opening and closing the door about 5 times I heard a snap and only one of the hinges was working. The second hinge needed to be torqued again. This happened about 4 times. I will be returning it to the store shortly.

The instructions that came with them was easy to understand about how to adjust them to have the door shut on its own. People need to read the instructions to get the most out the product.

Great Hinge

Okay, I wouldn't think to give a review on a hinge, but this a great hinge. We needed two for or door that goes from the house to the garage and we needed a hinge that would shut the door automatically. The customer service person at Lowes recommended this hinge and it looks and works great.
